The Lincoln MKVIII fan has a reputation for moving a lot of air, and amps.
So whatever you get make sure your alternator is up to the job.

If you're looking in the junkyard, the two speed fans have three wires to the motor.

I've just purchased the Taurus 3.8L fan / shroud assembly (by Dorman) new via RockAuto for a delivered cost of about $114, and I'm sure it will satisfy your cooling needs. However:

Even without the shroud, it is almost five inches front to back. If your clearance issues are the same as mine, you cannot install this thing directly in front of the water pump / in line with the existing fan / shroud.

If you pull all the existing fan and shroud parts and then offset the new stuff by several inches towards the driver's side of the vehicle, you should be able to clear things fine.

I wanted to retain the effectiveness of the factory designed shroud, so I am looking at mounting the new fan / shroud system within the old, with the OEM shroud generating a strong pull across the entire core, even if it's the electric fan doing the pulling.

If you want another shroud to play with, they CAN be very cheap. For my year truck, it was just $21 delivered for a brand new shroud. I can cut up on it all day long, totally screw things up, and still have the original unmodified shroud to ball back on.

Provides a nice comfort factor from my perspective.

I recently upgraded my '75 F-250's radiator and fan set up. I thought my posting some pix and a short history of my own travails and successes, it might help you a bit. I went with a new cross flow al. rad. from Summit. Then I wanted to same some $, so I looked around in the junkyard for a nice dual fan set-up that I thought would fit. I found out out of a Ford Windstar, and after much measuring and cutting, ultimately found it would not work. But I was lucky, because the shroud had a separating partition dividing the fans, so I cut it apart and used the thinnest of the two, which was the most powerful. I did, however, have to keep it to the passenger side to clear the water p. pulley. It moves a great amount of air, and although I also have a pusher fan set up on the outside of the rad., from a 94 Toy. Tercel for towing/hauling or trips to Baja, which I can connect with a simple quick connect fitting, so far, even in July, the one puller has been ample. I used the Painless adjustable thermo control from Summit for about $60.

Above is the Windstar dual set up I adapted, but which did not work, and I had to separate the two fans.

Above is one of the two fans which I mounted on the driver's side. Note the 'skirt' added to seal one side. I also used al. stock to create easy brackets.

Above you see the Tercel pusher fan mounted beside the trans cooler. This is my spare fan for towing/hauling/baja trips.

FYI, the late model Saabs, 2005, 06 etc., have a nice dual set up that would fit nicely.
