Crank Centerline to Deck Measurement - Crossflow

Postby rocklord » Thu May 20, 2010 4:29 pm

Can anyone tell me what the stock measurement is from the crank centerline to the top of the deck for the 4.1L crossflow engine? Or what the stock piston recess in the block is?

I did a search on the xFalcon forum for the information and came up with the total block height of 243mm (9.567"), which I believe is not the measurement I need. The measurement for the US 250 is 9.469" and MustangSix stated in his rebuild that the crossflow block is shorter.

I need this measurement for a spreadsheet I am working on for CR calculations and piston/rod combinations. When I use 9.567" in my spreadsheet with the stock crossflow stroke, rod length, and piston CH, the CR calculation come out extremely low. If you could tell me what the stock piston recess is, I can calculate the value I need.

Thanks in advance.
Dan

I can't get to it until this weekend, but I have a block I can get a rough measurement on. It is shorter, but only by about .060" IIRC.
