Pics of my 300 build

Postby DrDuktayp » Tue Dec 04, 2007 12:16 pm

Hey there!

You guys have been most helpful with my build. I have learned a lot by reading about other ppl's build and by corresponding with many of you on the forum. Below is my engine with the roller rockers in place. They weren't yet adjusted as you'll notice. Then a pic with the covers on. The picture looks Orange but it is 'Ford Red'.

And another.

300 in engine compartment

Postby DrDuktayp » Thu Dec 20, 2007 4:14 pm

Spent several hours struggling with motor to get her in yesterday. Here are a couple of photos. Still have lots of work to do and we have snow here that I would love to get it out in and play.

It looks so nice in there. A friend of mine is going to help me rid the compartment of extraneous items.

Tom

PS It's RED my camera made it Orange. AND that is a Bendix Oil filter not Fram.

The worst bike ride of my life - May 3, 2003. Fifty miles, uphill through rain and sleet on a mountain bike for MS. I loved it. Came back three more times to make a difference.

This year: from Irvine to Oceanside to San Diego - 156 miles ridden with $3380 raised to help fight Multiple Sclerosis. Thanks guys!

The Alternator matches by sheer luck. I ordered it from Summit, it has a chrome pulley, is powder coated red and puts out 100 amps.

I hope to have the compartment cleaner when I am done. There are lots of wires under there that are going away.

:)

NICE!
You've given me something to look forward to as I am prepaing to rebuild the exact same engine.
Mind if I ask why you chose that particular cam?

I chose the cam because it was in the range I was looking for and Comp Cams had the hardened push rods for it.

I had to turn it North-South as I couldn't route the throttle cables past the valve cover (how it is oriented in picture) and turned 180 the heater was in the way.

I am awaiting radiator now and have lots of the small stuff all done.

seems to me to be spray paint, as was used on the exhaust manifolds.

the finish is too inconsistant, IMO to be a ceramic/powder coating.
Wanted: clifford 264H (240,300) or comp cams 268H, good used condition ok.
