Visors, 84 F150

When I had the 84 reupholstered a few years ago I replaced the visor rods that screw into the cab. The darn things have no friction so they swing back upon acceleration and forward upon stopping. Is there some way to adjust them with the spring gizmo inside the attachment plate or did I get newer ones that have no friction? Later visors have a stop clip by the windshields but the 84's do not.

Anyone experience the same problem?

I threw mine away when that happened and never replaced them so I never tried this: supposedly by moving drivers side to passenger side snd vise-versa, you can gain some more use out of them. Again, never tried it so I dont know it works.

Thanks for the hint, I'm at the jpoint where I'll try anything short of taking them out and that may happen yet.
