Carburetor Upgrade Advice

Bmbm40: The inline in my garage has a c6 casting. The one in my car is c5 so I think they are essentially the same cylinder head.

I think the real issue probably has to do with the compression. It's something I have been putting off now for a while. Think it's time to take the head off and have it reconditioned at the machine shop. I'll have the intake bored out to accept a larger carb. Hopefully this will do the trick.

Thanks for all of the help and input everyone. Appreciate it.

Howdy Back:

Both the C5 and the C6 head will have chamber volumes of about 52 cc and smaller intake valves. Both years of 200 were rated at 9:1 which is pretty good for a street engine. A valve jobs is always a good idea. Be sure to specify at least a three angle valve seat and a back cut on the intake valves.

I'd really recommend that you look for a D8 and later head to have rebuilt. Do some reading on this site for details.

Adios, David
