Re: car jumping in gear

I would check for vacuum leaks at the carb and distributer (if vacuum advance). The black vacuum lines should all look good with no cracks or breaks. The carb should be sealed to the intake and not have air leaks at mount, or in carb it self. I would also check Transmission fluid, make sure some old...

Re: lets talk tubular....custom intake on the falcon log hea

Interesting.
I think if you are going as far as to press and seal in tubes into the existing intake ports removing the log, I'd keep them short and have a flat flange, Then you can bolt on a custom intake, box, or individual runners.

Very neat! I'm subscribing.

Stock replacement springs in the head? With stiffer springs and the boost, you should be able to go to 5K or more. I know mine would choke at 4k with the Motocraft 1946, no boost, with the stock springs. I had an E0 head in an 80 Capri.

it's probably worth that in scrap, so you won't get it for much less. A lot of the junk yards in the northern states have been on a purge to sell to scrap anything that is older, so it's been getting harder to find parts.

i've been starting to research getting an aussie 6 of somekind into a supercoupe tbird (irs and comfy as heck). either a turbo barra or a xr6 if the prices ever come down.

this is the long term dream, I also want an early fox again with a 200, but a 200 isn't enough to push a giant tbird around.

The "Cash for Clunkers" program in the US was a law similar to this (road, good intentions and paving..). If you had a car less than 25 yrs old (classic designation in US) and older than 5, and you bought a new car with at certain MPG improvement they would give you like $5,000 or somethin...
