Re: Modifying Stainless Header

X2 plus Aluminum is a good insulator so the spacers may even help keep some heat soak out of the carb's. Ummmmm.... No. Aluminum is a very good CONDUCTER, not INSULATOR.... It transfers both electricity and heat very well... That said, I think it will do the job well, and be a lot easier to fabrica...

Re: high ratio rocker arms

I also say those are very nice rocker arms! I would be interested in a set for the 200 cid Ford straight six at your estimated price point.

Please tell us more! Do you and your family have a website or something so we can see more details?

Thank you

Re: CI/VI head setup questions

After a couple of months of isolation, have you been able to make any more progress on this? I'm building a very similar engine for the roadster pickup I'm building... Would love to see some encouragement! :D

Yes, they should be fine. I'll try to get some time to work on it, but spring weather has been... Wet... And I'd rather not work in the mud!

I'll pm you some pictures when I get them.

Sorry, no. This is/was a 5-lug 8-inch, and I'm using it.

March, 2020 Update

Okay, it's still February, but just barely. I talked to Matt (Matt Cox - owner of Vintage Inlines) this week. He has been contracting with a commercial/aftermarket cylinder head company for production of the heads. He is being told that his first production run (I think it is 100, but I'm not positi...

76 Maverick shell - anybody need anything?

I have a 4-door 1976 Maverick that I pulled the drivetrain from. No front body parts (PO hit a power pole). Otherwise in great shape. Located in southeast Oklahoma.

You can probably have almost any part you want, before I take it to the scrappers.

Aaannndddd... That's why I'm using custom titanium (int) and sodium-filled inconel (exh) valves with a 1.8 inch installed height. I know I'm pretty new on the boards, and I'm certain you just want to help and in no way are trying to be the a@@h01# you sound like, but that doesn't mean I am new to bu...

No pictures in #46... Don't know what is going on there. :hmmm: I don't want to derail the thread any further, so I'm just going to drop this here, and start a new build thread soon... I just got off the phone with Kevin (Jerry's son) at Schneider's. I ordered a custom solid cam and EDM high-pressur...

I hate to be a 'me too' kind of guy, but I have also sent money for two years now, with nothing to show here. :bang: It gives the impression of favoritism... 'the cool guys who have been here forever' vs the rest of us schlubs...

Just saying. :hmmm:

Windsor SBF Rods, cont'd

I finally had a chance to pull out my rods and look at them. While I did not use a caliper, or anything more precise than my eyes, I just don't see any offset. Either longitudinally in the engine-wise, or perpendicular to the crank. :hmmm: https://fordsix.com/img/_data/i/upload/2020/02/07/2020020718...

200 I6 blueprints?

While complete prints would be awesome, I am specifically looking for the crankshaft centerline location, relative to the oil pan rails and engine mount bolts. I'm not at a point where I can pull the pan and measure it, but looking at the engine from the front, it looks like it (the crank) is offset...

Re: high ratio rocker arms

@ Invectivus - Any updates on the rocker situation? Have you (or anyone else) found the "magic bullet" that will give all of us an inch of valve lift, using stock springs, pistons, heads, etc., and flow 400 CFM? :D   Yeah... Anyway - I really would like to know what you found ...

And some bushed or better than stock custom 5.09" V8 Windsor con-rods would be better, with the right offset ordered. So its all a delicate balancing act... What offset are you talking about here? I'm gathering parts for a hi-po 200 build right now, and just ordered a set of Scat H-beam 302W r...

On the other SBF engines, just a Spider gusset is enough to retain the roller followers..... On the SP 221 for Turismo Carretera, the followers are cross bolted into position like this https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSkA1SksdUA99PNJocQJANWP-E7Fb0wNqS9mjHN6t9kMqdWHsRQ Xctasy, I...

Re: 300 wont turn enough rpms

You are going to have to use a voltmeter and check the wires in the connector on the firewall, like was stated above. You need to look for battery voltage, and switched power.
