Re: Need Help guys

Moved ground wire from points to condenser all is well again. Since getting it started again I changed the fuel pump and filter and added another between tank and pump for safety measure and purrs like a kitten

Re: Need Help guys

Does anybody know if the resistor wire in a column ignition system is between the switch and harness connector or the harness connector and the engine compartment. This case is a 1973 maverick. I can't imagine that both are resistor wires and hopefully I don't have to take column apart to replace as...

Re: Need Help guys

I've been away from cars for a few years, in the "OLD" days if you didn't have a blue spark forget it, wasn't going to run on an orange. My feelings are still the same as there is more spark loss after going thru the distributor and rotor and spark plug wire, even w/o the spark plug. (just...

Need Help guys

I just bought a 73 mav in great condition except wouldn't run. When I put gas in carb started right up and purred like a kitten until gas was gone, no fuel from pump and pretty sure tank and lines are plugged with crap from sitting. Now that I have it home and can work on it I was trying to run it b...

Reg block

Not worth it dude, I have found it to be cheaper to buy a whole car (to part out) than looking for an old motor and most generally you can see/hear it run before you do all the work of a swap and find out that the junk yard motor was junk and have to swap out again

Reason for granada

Reason for looking at a granada is that Falcons, comets, mustangs, maverics are or should be worth $$$ I can't think of anyone wanting a granada and don't mind tearing one of these apart and it should be alot cheaper if the parts will work. Also looking to pull front spindles and disks and power boo...

Vin info

Is there a site where you can get the breakdown via vin numbers as to what the options were on the original sale of the car without paying a fee?

1963 falcon~granada rear end question

I am thinking about looking for an old granada for the disk break(5lug) setup for my 63 falcon. Will a granada rear end fit under the falcon as it will help determine how much a granada would be worth to me for parts. I want a 5 bolt lug setup as I hate 4bolts

8.55 15"

I used to run 8.55 15" on my 63 sprint (this was when conventional tires were standard) with no lift in the rear end except HD shocks. Occasionally they would bottom out but had to really be a terrible road. I had to change the speedo gear as it really threw off the speedometer, but I couldn't keep ...

Thanks guys

thanks for the info, haven't been onto cars for awhile and never really got involved with the 6's other than to work on them, thought about going with a 302 setup but thinkin about stayin w/the 6 especially as I have 3 of them now and the price of gas. V8's can be economical but I never have been ab...

15-20 mpg Same problem years ago

I had the same problem years ago and it baffled me until I finally figured it out. On a fill up your gauge always goes above full so it must be full right? wrong check to see how far you go until it goes to the F mark on gauge from tank to tank. My tank had a dent in it and when I gassed up on an in...
