Re: Searching for Builds / Combos

This somewhat verified my thoughts that proper headers are still worth some torque on a truck that has efi manifolds^^ making 260ftlbs at the tire where as a stock engine makes 260 at the flywheel. I wonder how much tq the megasquirt was worth though. I know I'm a completely stock engine with walker...

If there's an 02 sensor in the exhaust manifold it's a 96' 97-95 where in a small cross over right before the cat. 96' trucks were ob2 maf systems. The intake pipe to the throttle body was a Y merging the two pipes off the throttle body to one larger pipe which housed a maf sensor right before the a...

Re: F-250 super cab 4x4 300 Turbo

First things first, love the truck, and the direction of your build. Most turbo builds are more oriented toward hot rod type performance. I honestly think my turbo 4.9 f150 would stomp my 460 powered tow rig on the dyno in both hp and tq. That said my 300 isn't set up for towing, and I think of it w...

I use megasquirt and like it, can't give any insight on the fitech other then quite a few people seem to be using it with success. I do run a hx35 on a stock 4.9. The stock internal wastegate is inadequate, running an 8 psi spring in the actuator I see 20 psi if im in it long enough. As far as the e...

E85 is a fair amount more forgiven, one time I had my n/a timing table loaded into the tune by accident. 28 degrees total and no retard for boost! I pulled it out to test on 15 psi........ driving to the testing spot I rolled it on in 2nd gear at about 2500rpm like I had done a bunch of times before...

At one point I did something similar. Cut the cat off, added maybe 16" of pipe to both "down pipes" and then y'd it into a single 3" with a thrush muffler. I've got a picture of it somewhere.

I'm actually surprised it takes 16 degrees at 2000 rpm in boost, especially with the advanced cam timing. Seems like I can be a little more aggressive with timing on e85 then.

Good to know on the coyote injectors, I want to swap in something name brand. I'd hate to hurt the motor due to cheap supporting mods. Your truck as traction limited as mine? Never hit a dyno but it'll spin from a 35-40 mph roll

Re: DYNO DAY 13-14 lbs 509 ft/lbs

I did push through the stock headgasket, but my wastegate reference line popped off and boost skyrocketed, pegged the map sensor in my catalog. Stock pistons and rods stayed togeather, but I think my low timing (14 degrees) and 11.0 afr with e85 helped save them.

Another option is to switch to a twin scroll style manifold since the hx35 has a twin scroll housing. Either efi manifolds with fabricated up pipes to a divided t3 flange or a custom manifold all togeather. Should help spool a measurable amount without choking it higher in the rpms with a smaller tu...

You may want to consider using efi manifolds with with 2" up pipes to a twin scroll t3 flange for the turbo, that will isolate the first 3 from the last 3 cylinders and will give the desired effects of twin scroll. You may have to run a wastegate on each up pipe. Weld the wastegate in the hx35 ...

Advancing the stock camshaft won't make any more horsepower, but will make more low end torque and in my experience, makes for a stronger running truck. Stock efi 4.9 cams are installed 4 degrees retarded from the factory with a somewhat failure prone nylon gear.
