Transmission installed and running finally. shifts nicely. Used the non synthetic ford fluid-15 quarts!! with torque converter and attached flushed cooling system- a 2 gal container and 7 more quarts. Sounds like a lot That's one BIG tranny for a six cylinder 1/2 ton.

Talked with Forest Lake rebuilder 160 miles north of me-think that is the least hassel best thing r&r here and take trans to them around 3 day turn around he said-got a good feeling about this-wish me luck :)

The 2000 covers labor and trans with ! year wty complete-would double check to make sure

Pretty sure I found it now :D On 2 about 4 in leads dangeling from dist plug about 4 in from mtr mount. Size and shape as in pics. Only visabel from one angel from top through hoses and wiring.
Good thing as my ability to get pics posted hasn't happened yet.

Hmm--The thing I was looking at says RABS TEST
Every thing else is a connection to another set of wires nothing like the jumper plug in the pic visible-maybe from underneath ?

Thanks all--Think I found it attatched to plastic bracket right behind air cleaner box. Just didn't look like the pics I saw. Black round shaped with one red and one green wire.

Very near the distributor. It's probably been messed with over the years so it's not possible to tell you exactly where yours is, but if you trace the wires from the distributor plug back to the chassis harness, you'll find it. never timed a 300 with electronic control. Is there a thread here or a link on this? on my 350 chev there is a brown wire to deactivate computer effect. What's the procedure here?

Thanks for the info-Keep me from learning the hard way! First, the gear ratio is probably around 3.4 according to tire size-RPM and mph. The MPH is pretty much on according to GPS. Play with the timing and a vacuum gauge. Should be able get a higher idle vacuum if the cam isn't too big. Then make sure total advance isn't too much.

OK so I see they are all feed off a common rail-batch fire. Doesn't that let fuel fall out of suspension in the ports of the cyl not on the intake cycle? how is it timed and triggered?

CI tech sounded neutral on using the port divider and didn't sell one with their headers. What's the experience here?
The CI alloy head is divided, but then the ports are larger too. What do they do down south and across the pond?
