Re: Overheating. Not timed or tuned. Good Tutorial?

I did back flush the radiator with air, water, and an air/water mix(refreshing on a hot day). Got lots o Crap free from radiator. Radiator is 20x24". No shroud. From whatI can tell the factory shroud looks more like a fan guard to protect fingers. Now running 50/50 + a V/P additive to help it r...

Thread pitch on Clifford 6=8?

I've got a Clifford intake and would like to put in a vacuum barb. There is a hole centered below the carb mount that a 3/8-16 bolt will thread into but they don't seem to offer that thread to barb adapter.
Any help on this thread pitch?

Overheating. Not timed or tuned. Good Tutorial?

I recently put a different engine in my '78 f150. Switched to a Clifford intake with 2100 carb as well as efi headers. The truck overheats. 3 reasons why I can replace any part on this truck and have but... I know next to nothing about set up. 1. My timing is probably off. I understand I'll need to ...

Which manifold studs?

I'm hanging efi exhaust manifolds and a Clifford 6=8 intake in place of the stock logs. I figured new studs would be a good idea now. It's a '78 engine.
Wondering what manifold studs You guys use?
The napa guy couldn't seem to find them on his computer.

It is a married TC, you're correct on that. I did already removed the shifter itself. Wasnt sure if the top of the tower would clear the firewall. Looks as though it may once the trans bolts are free from the tc adapter and the tail stock can drop an inch or two.

Thinking removing trans tunnel will allow me to clear gearshift housing cover and make life easier. Would removing the gearshift cover save me a headache?
I've already taken the shift lever out of the gearshift cover.

I'm pulling my engine and 435 trans as one unit. Never done it together. It's a divorced transfer case. Transfer case is currently removed. My local yard has plenty from 302s. Does the year matter? 1.08" is the venturi size most prefer? Should this be a bolt on and go? I realize I'll need to fab up a throttle linkage I just don't want to re-jet and spent a lot of tuning time.

Wanting to put LT235/85r16 tires on my truck but need wheels to put them on. I've found that a 6-7" wide rim is preferred. Where can I find these rims in a 5x5.5 bolt pattern? Junk yard find is cheapest/best for me. Ugly is fine, I'll sandblast and powdercoat them. What vehicles had them? Junky...
