Re: 300 into a newer truck?

So you get a manual trans late nineties truck. Put hobbiest plates on, drop in 300. Hopefully with a zf5 trans already in place. Not sure if it applies but semis are often purchased sans engine so an old engine can be placed in to avoid emission restrictions. Might change based on geographic locatio...

Re: 300 into a newer truck?

I was thinking that the newer engines had gained so much that it wouldn't be worth while but then again the torque curve on a 300 is great. I'm thinking it would bolt directly up to the 5.0 and 5.8 truck bell housings. Maybe even the 4.6 and 5.4, not sure of the bell housing bolt patterns on those. ...

Re: 300 into a newer truck?

I was thinking newer than '97. But in a 2010's era would be something to look at. I bet a clean truck could be had at auction with a Crap motor for little over a grand. Pot a $3k 300 into it and you might end up with a cool truck with lots of modern amenities for around 5-6 grand.

300 into a newer truck?

Has anyone put a built 300 into a newer truck? Sort of a reverse resto-mod? Imagine buying a newish truck at auction with a Crap engine. Rip out the guts and put in a clean looking built 300 with a holley sniper system. Oh and a giant alternator for the creature comforts. Anyone here done it? Pictur...
