Congrats on the build. Looks great.

Ps where did you get that valve cover, it looks taller than the one on the 223 in my 63’ galaxie?

Thanks,

Re: Big Six aluminum head update 9-14

At the Summit Autorama this year in Atlanta. I was talking with one of the Edelbrock Guys about the Jeep 4.0-4.2 Head they have started making. Somewhere in the conversation it Came up that they were in process of R&D on more inline six heads. Ford was one of the brands mentioned. I came away fo...

Re: Summit Carb Mystery

I sent a request to one of my friends here, I am still waiting to hear back. If I don't hear something back by tonight, I will try to get one pulled off the shelf and measure it my self.

Thanks,

Jonathan.

Re: Summit Carb Mystery

Hey guys. I just found something odd or strange regarding the relatively new Summit 500 cfm 4v carb. They refuse to tell me the diameter of the primary venturi! Are they serious? They say it is 'proprietary'. I mean they sell the darn thing. It's not a national secret. I was trying to confirm that ...

Re: 1967 Galaxie/Custom Engine Swap

Update. not much work has been done on the custom. Been acumulating parts for a whine now. Still trying to get the daily driver running right. 1985 s10 2.8 v6 :bang: . Also just got a lead on a forged 300 crank. It is a reman. That is turned .010 on the mains And .030 on the rods. Do y'all think it ...

Re: Side draft carbs on a 300.

Thanks for the input guys. CNC-Dude, I don't want to be rude but are you shure that 40mm would be enough. Seems small to me. But then again I don't know much about these carbs. Do you know of any good books or articles on the Webers for reference. Bubba nice call on the AOD electric conversion I wil...

Side draft carbs on a 300.

I picked up an old Clifford side draft manifold recently. I was thinking about using it on a possible 300 build. I have heard it said that the triple weber set up is not the best for all out racing with the 300. I was wondering if it could work on a street car. Say a redline of 5000 rpm or so. AOD t...

Re: 1967 Galaxie/Custom Engine Swap

Sorry for not updating sooner. I have been working my tail off at my new job (Summit Racing). I have decided to get the drivetrain done before body work, so I will be soon buying a crate transmission from TCI. It will be an AOD, I am going to get some adjustable linkage from Lokar to make it work wi...

Re: 1967 Galaxie/Custom Engine Swap

Sorry t has taken me so long to update the project. Six day work weeks are loads of fun. Good find. At that price you aren't into it too much, and '60s era cruisers are going to be "the next big thing" on the hot rod scene I think. Re: the rust - get some body hammers and dollies and a set of Cleco fasteners and your job will be simplified. Thanks for the suggestion FTF. I Ha...

Re: 1967 Galaxie/Custom Engine Swap

Well I went and spoke to the owner yesterday. The car is definitely a project car. There were a few rust holes in the trunk area. Re: 1967 Galaxie/Custom Engine Swap

Well it took longer than expected, but I will be going to see the car on 2/2/15. I spoke to the seller and he said it has a bad knock that sounds like a rod, and a bad starter. We will soon see if the project is a Go/No go.

Re: 1967 Galaxie/Custom Engine Swap

The header will hang down too low. I also vote for a stocker exhaust manifold . Or you could whack off the header tubes and fab new plumbing to clear the frame and starter. Short story: My supervisor once confided in me that when he was a young pup out on the Dearborn test track doing some carburet...

1967 Galaxie/Custom Engine Swap

I was wondering if any one here has swaped a 300 in place of a 240 in a Galaxie/ Custom before. :?: I am looking at getting a 1967 custom 2 door that has a 240 with a knock just to swap my hopped up 300 into. The engine I have now is in my Daily driver 1985 f150 that was recently hit (tore the front...
