Re: Rocker Shaft

Measure the OD in the unworn area of your old shaft & compare with the new shaft.
As you said you may have to hone the pedestals to be a slip fit on the new shaft.
If the rocker arms are loose, you will need new rocker arms. Go from there.

Re: Stalling out in gear

A lot depends on your camshaft specs. You need to get your DUI recurved anyway.
The $$$ you spent you could have a curved DS11 + coil & module.
My HEI's go for $225.00 recurved for your application.
Lets see what you have for a camshaft then we can go from there. Bill

Re: Stalling out in gear

We need specs on camshaft. 18 degrees initial with the DUI which has the wrong total advance total could destroy your engine. You have close to 42 degrees total advance which is too much. Depending on camshaft specs you may have to have a curb idle closer to 900 in park. You may have to install a lo...

Re: Rebuilt Head, No Oil Flowing

Nothing to do with head bolts or studs. The oil to the head is right above the oil sender on the LR of the block. One thing you could do is remove the entire rocker arm assy. Remove the oil sender. Blow compressed air into the oil passage on the LS of the removed pedestal bolt removed & see if a...

If the head was milled. There is an oil transfer slot in the head surface. It directs the oil from the lr oil galley right above the sender to the head surface. If the transfer slot is not wide enough you will get no oil to the rear rocker shaft pedestal. Did you install the correct bolt in the rear...

On the Sniper you have to lock out the centrifugal advance.
I would recommend to get rid of the points & go with a DS11 distributor.
Use an MSD-6al & a Blaster 2 or 3 coil if you want the best. The DS11 will also need to have the advance locked out.
