Re: Shock Tower Alignment

Bubba, Thank you for your response. I appreciate your insight on the car of the era. I have done most of the modification you suggested. I am going to install the adjustable strut rods and roller idler arm. I have done additional modification, under engine support, slotted the lower control arm moun...

Shock Tower Alignment

Is there a way to check if the shock towers are straight/upright? I am struggling with the alignment on my '65 Ranchero. The Ranchero is very honest/straight, but I did notice the backside of the driver's side front fender was a different color than the rest of the vehicle. The previous owner was cl...

Re: Ball bearing idler arm on a manual steering vehicle.

Bubba, I have a question about '66 Mustang front shock towers. Is there a way to check if they are straight/upright? I am struggling with the alignment on my '65 Ranchero. The Ranchero is very honest/straight, but I did notice the backside of the driver's side front fender was a different color than...

Re: Broken Rear Leaf Spring Mount

Thank you for your response. That is what I thought, too. I will try to get a picture and post it. It is the rear eye bracket which bolts to the frame. I was wondering if anyone has used any of the kits. I was searching on the internet and repair/replacement kits show up under the 4 x 4 crowd. Thank...

Broken Rear Leaf Spring Mount

I was investigating a clunk in the rear suspension. When I went over a rough area, there was a clunking sound. I was able to duplicate the sound and discovered a crack at the base of the rear leaf spring mount bracket. Do they sell a replacements? Is there a better fix than the eye bracket used? Tha...

Re: Needs Some C4 help

Thanks, bubba That is exactly what I was looking for. The Ranchero is my daily driver so I need to keep the down time to a minimum, so I was going to do a swap. Getting a large log head, 2v conversion, head work, etc. and then pull the package out and put the rebuilt one in. Great input, Bubba Doug

Needs Some C4 help

My daily driver is a 65 Ranchero, 200 w a green dot C4. The C4 is getting tired and is leaking. A friend has a rebuilt 74 C4 with flex plates and torque converter. What would I need to do to use the 74 C4? Would it be a good swap? I am planning on building a 200, I have most of the hard parts purcha...
