Re: Holley 1904 for 262

So what is the purpose of the weird choke plate on the 1960? I have one in my small collection of carbs. on the bench right now. List 1154, EBP-9510-H with the provision for a dash pot for automatic transmission. It came with my used Offenhauser intake and a mismatched 1904. Should I be looking for ...

Re: bought a Fenton exhaust manifold with issues

I wish I were in a warm climate today, everything is covered in a sheet of ice with snow predicted next. I was going to take my Model A motor to Clare IA. today to have the babbet bearings installed. But fear and common sense are holding me back. My old cars are all tucked in high and dry for the wi...

Re: bought a Fenton exhaust manifold with issues

Thanks Bubba for the reminder to all about carbon monoxide. The hole is located internally between the two outlets. The pin hole in the #2 runner is the external one that will leak the carbon monoxide. A little more background on the setup. It came with a Offenhauser 2 X 1bbl. intake with 2 mismatch...

bought a Fenton exhaust manifold with issues

I finally found a cast iron Fenton exhaust manifold for my 223-I6. It has two issues that I found after I started cleaning it up in the glass bead cabinet. There is a hole in between the #3 & #4 exhaust runners, and not just a tiny one either. And a pin hole on the bottom of the #2 exhaust runne...

Re: Stacked carb gaskets?

The thickness will change the idle speed. A shorter height will cause a fast idle I could not adjust for. So i re-installed my original gasket/spacer stack and it straightened out. It had to do with the linkage travel.

223 camshaft question

When did Ford change the #3 cam bearing from grooved to cross drilled? Or was it cross drilled to grooved? My thinking is grooved is a better design because the oil can flow without the risk of restriction or chance of blockage if the cross drilled holes should get plugged up with sludge or filings.

need info on clutch vendors for my '56 f100

While I have the motor out of my '56 F100, I'm going to replace my original clutch and clutch disk now. I am in need of a excellent quality clutch and pressure plate to install. Would like some help finding what I need. I looked at centerforce after a well respected local mechanic suggested them but...
