The transmission pan bolts are one thing. Tightening to spec seems to have stopped the leak. No real harm there.

How likely is it that the trans would fall out without the crossmember?

Thanks guys! The 69 Mustang had an A/C option, but I think it was only for the v8.v The MACH 1 and Boss packages definitely had A/C. I'll check in to a retro fit though.

I have a 69 Mustang with a 250. No A/C but was thinking of adding it. I've seen some A/C conversion kits for 289s but no 6 cylinders. Is there one out there? Any other recommendations?

Is there a different size divider for 1967 and 1969?

The one I bought seems to be way too big. Am I missing something?

I ask about the year because the package was labeled 1963-1973, but under that label, I found an older label marked 1960-1967.

Just to confirm... No adjustments necessary? This thing just bolts on? I'm going to coat the rockers and rods in some oil, put on some oil, fill the fluids and fire it up?

Welded it back together at a friend's shop. The studs are solid for now, but it's a temp fix.

Would anyone be willing to share their header installation modifications?

Where do you move the throttle linkage?

So... a chunk of the exhaust manifold fell off while I was threading the new studs in. About the size of my pinky knuckle.

Would you guys recommend replacing it with headers?

Rick, that link says they are for Dodge Chrysler applications. Do they fit the ford exhaust manifold?

Yes this is at the donut. I'm using studs and nuts, so tightening the nut eventually loosens the studs. Frustrating.

I'm on my 3rd set of bolts to hold the exhaust pipe to manifold. They keep coming loose and falling out. Used lock washers, thread locker.

Any tips or tricks to keep that thing connected?

Fi-----nally got my cylinder head back from the machine shop. looks good though.

My current head is pretty beat up. Crack on the intake manifold, threads broken at the ends where the exhaust manifold mounts. And i have a persistent vacuum leak. I found this 70 head for a decent price and it's in better shape.

Just purchased a 1970 cylinder head to replace the head on my 1969 250.

I'll take it to a machine shop for a valve job, but is there a good tutorial on installing it?

The leak is coming from the temp sending unit. Drips all the way down. I assumed the worst and just wasn't looking there.

Do you just use plumbers tape or high temp.silicone to seal?

Hey Chad I have the 1969 250 "M" head.

I will check the valve cover again.

The problem seems to be getting more intermittent. I drove it to work. No leaks...

I did not see any smoke or evidence of burning this morning either

I tightened down the oil pan (gently). It leaks again after idling for a few minutes. There's one bolt I can't reach due to a cylinder near the transmission. Pardon my ignorance, not sure what that is. I'm pretty confident the leak is around the oil pan. Is it possible to replace the the oil pan gas...

I replaced the LED bulbs with the regular bulbs (glad I saved them) and the dash lights all work. Turn signal indicators too. The headlamps still cause the turn signals to blink slower and the lights dim with them. I'm thinking the headlamp switch is going bad.

I just replaced the oil a few weeks and a 1000 miles ago. Something clearly went wrong on this trip to cause the leak and burn off. Hottest temps the oil pressure gauge fluctuated, which it never does.

I added a quart or two in the 6000 miles since the last oil change. I use full synthetic.

I've been tracking it down by wiping it off and waiting for it to drip again.

After about 24 hours... no more drips. Any thoughts? I'm going to fill it back with oil and see how it does.

I hope i didn't blow a gasket... I've got oil dripping a few drops a day off the front of the transmission. It seems to be coming off the back of the oil pan. All is intact. One of the studs connecting the flange to the exhaust manifold is in need of replacement. I think that kept me from being able to tighten down and align the gasket correctly.

Exhaust donut burnout

So I replaced the exhaust donut a couple of weeks ago. After about 200 miles I noticed a leak again and just discovered the thing is completely burned up. Just the thin metal ring is left. The engine is running fine. Normal temp, between 160 and 190.

Is this a result of improper installation?

Not the brake booster. Process of elimination. I disconnected the hose from the manifold to the brake booster and plugged it while the engine was running. Still had the shakes.

Is the float level different on an automatic? If so what should it be?

stalling on turns?

So I just swapped out my autolite 1101 for a rebuilt autolite 1101 from Rock Auto. IT RUNS LIKE A DREAM!!!

Except... It stalls while decelerating into a turn at low speeds, like when pulling in to a parking space. I have power brakes but no power steering. Any ideas?
