EFI Head Combustion Chamber Size

I've done some searching for combustion chamber sizing on EFI heads and I gave up so I did it myself. Hopefully these numbers help others.

I used Jegs PN 80950 kit to do it.
Spark plugs are NGKAP8F

Re: Siggestions on how to proceed

Based on your cam numbers it seems like I might have a little more overlap which probably isn't that big of deal? You definitely have more lift but I suppose a set of Chevy 1.7 ratio roller rockers can give me a bit more and help things breath a bit better. I'm definitely planning on intercooling w...

Re: Twin Turbo Blow Through 300

Yea, I forgot to post that I got the tuning taken care of, it's running richer like it's supposed to. Bumped my boost to 10 psi, I'm happy with where it's at right now. Just doing some quarter miles lately to estimate horsepower. I don't know the error on those little calculators that use MPH/Weight...

Re: cooling fan options/ideas

Not sure if it's worth much, I have a 6 blade flexalite and I don't have any heat issues. No shroud, just the fan a couple inches away from the radiator. It's not noisy either, I've heard people say they are loud. I read somewhere that after about 30mph a fan doesn't do much, the air is being forced...

Re: Siggestions on how to proceed

Hopefully I can help with what I've learned. Head studs are a great idea, along with the felpro 1024. I put in main studs, but I've seen other people have success with bolts. If you studded the mains, everything will have to come apart to get the block line-honed. I never bothered with port and poli...

Re: Turbo selection

I've got turbos installed in mine that have the water jackets but I never hooked them up. TD04 from subaru. I did a lot of searching and for a daily it seems it's okay to not hook up the water to it. If you do some searching you'll see about 50/50 of people who hook it up vs don't. I've got a thousa...

Re: Twin Turbo Blow Through 300

Your carb doesn't look like a mechanical secondary "double pumper" Holley, it looks like a normal vacuum secondary in the pictures. How is that working out? I'm considering using an Edelbrock 500 I have. It seems like the modifications to it for boost should be very easy, especially under...

Re: Twin Turbo Blow Through 300

Well I got the lean spike out and have my boost set to 10psi.
Road raced a guy in the quarter, I don't have a time but I crossed the finish at around 95mph.
There's a few more improvements to make yet.

The cam is a 212/212, 114 LSA custom grind from comp cams.
Running a boost modified holley 600 double pumper.
You make a point, I can get a 4500rpm pill and try it out to see if it's going to want to make power there.

Built 300 Safe RPM limits

I did a search on here and I didn't find the definite answer I was hoping for right away, so here goes. I've got a fully rebuilt '87 300 on a turbo build and I have a rev limiter set at 4000. When going WOT, I seem to be bouncing off of that in no time at all. I rebuilt it with ARP rod bolts, ARP ma...

Is it me or does it look a little oily around the seat?
Probably unrelated but I have a '87 300 and it had a bad #6 cylinder with all others being fine.
Check this out, found it a long time ago and bookmarked it.

Re: A "run of the mill" 200 project.

I don't know much about the 200s but my opinion so far is that the issues you will face is the budget and the mileage you expect. When I started mine I really got nickel and dimed on little stuff I forgot I needed. The old school rule of thumb is you lose 10% economy when a turbo goes on, don't know...

Re: Future build; fuel management?

Yea, I actually went ahead and built the megasquirt to EEC-IV adapter, and the MSII computer in my basement. It's difficult and time consuming, I won't sugar coat it. For fuel, I used a boost-referenced fuel pressure regulator with a tank return. It adds 1 psi fuel pressure for every 1 psi of air pr...

Re: Future build; fuel management?

I'm using an Innovate Wideband sensor in my build, I'm happy with it. Of course I don't have any experience with other sensors but it seems accurate and responsive to me. The cheapest place I've been able to find turbo oil feed lines is ATP Turbo. From my research -4AN is the best size, also the siz...

Re: 1994 F150 computer

From my experience, I've done a twin turbo build and if the engine has high miles a rebuild is recommended. I can't say much about megasquirt. I built a megasquirt to plug into the factory harness but I never followed through with the efi part of my build. I ended up selling it. Good luck with your ...

Re: Twin Turbo Blow Through 300

Ok, sorry about the horrible audio and video quality, hopefully you can see what's up on there.
Rolling start, pretty much floored to 70mph.
I think I need a boost controller to raise the pressure, I'm supposing the wastegate is going partially open at WOT.

Re: Twin Turbo Blow Through 300

From compcams, 212/212, 114deg LSA.

It has a smooth idle, no chop to it, when it raps out it sounds a little bit like a ricer. Good low-mid torque though.

Even without full throttle and 4psi, it'll squeal tires when it spools up in first gear.

Re: Twin Turbo Blow Through 300

Took it cruising last night, I've got the throttle worked out where I can run 4psi of boost. Also filled my methanol tank. Holy crap. It really pushes a guy into the seat. Just 4psi is a whole lot of fun. I need to keep an eye on when it hits but I think it spools below 2000rpm. People were driving ...

On my twin turbo 300 build (close enough) I did ARP main studs head studs. Don't forget like I did though, the block needs to be line honed when you stud the mains. Also, have fun with the oil pickup tube. On the set I got, there were no special provisions on the top of the stud for the bracket. Tha...

If you have deep pockets, FiTech 600HP PA fuel injection throttle body would be the easiest.
