Like pmuller9 & FTF said all head bolts are blind, no water jacket issues.

When converting a head to threaded rocker studs you should coat bottom threads with sealer as they may have been drilled & taped into water jacket area.

Remember, if you are going to run guide plates you should run heat treated CM push rods, most 5/16" are at least .080 wall, run about $100 for set of 12. Good building.

That AUSSIESPEED 2V intake manifold is a fine unit, would love to run my Holley 2300 350cfm 2V carb on one, you would need a nice built head & right cam to get the performance out of it. Good luck with your build.

Would a Crane style bbc 1.75 roller rocker have the same geometry as the Comp Cam High Energy pressed steel rockers? If they are the same would you be able to use the same length push rods with hydraulic lifters?

Tac is a little shaky but it shows around 2800 with 29" tires, 3.73 rear gears, C4 auto trans. Cruise at 50-55 90% of the time.

BigBlue94 -- With the Holley 2300 2bbl I have seen it mounted both ways. I also was looking at the heat issue.

On my 1971 F250 4.9L inline 6 the only difference I find between starting the motor on manifold vacuum 19" or ported is that it may turn over a little easier on ported. Really the motor starts & runs great either way. I normally run off my Holley 2300 ported nipple.

What is the intake size on a 240 1bbl in square inches? Trying to compare my Holley 2300 2bbl size hole at 6.25 square inches to the original 1bbl hole size.
