Rear windows, 60’ Comet 2door

The rear windows roll 1/2 way down, both sides. Is this a safety feature? I’m replacing all the weather stripping so the doors are apart to remove the old. (After the new paint job of course) There is a 3rd leg off of the window regulator that moves horizontally as the glass is rolled down..is this ...

Re: Gun sight fender ornaments

Yikes! $200 each? Thans not cheap my friend. The previous owner lowered this car 3" with some cool retro hubcaps, dual exhaust.. so its the "RatRod" theme. I'm going to take down that road further.. I'm seeking a RatRod paint job (a nice one)... make her a nice summer cruiser.. Thanks...

Gun sight fender ornaments

Hi all, 3-ish questions.... Again, this is my 60' Comet 2 door. The car is in the prepping process for paint, yesterday I removed the chrome trim that runs along the side of the car back to the tail fins.. my first question is how does one remove the gun sight fender ornaments? I can see through a s...

Ring gear for a 60' Comet

Hi, its the guy with the 60' Comet again.. So my ring gear is pretty chewed up. think its time for a replacement. The engine is a 64' 200ci out of something, i've been told it was an early Mustang. But it is a 200 for sure. I was told to ask if the ring gear is part of the torque converter? My techn...

Suspect my neutral safety switch

hi again, Dave and his 60' Comet. i drove the car for the first time today. it has some stuff to iron out, but I think it will be a very fun cruiser. One thing I noticed was when I turned the key to start.... nothing... double checked wiring.. all seemed fine.. I then I moved the shift lever (2 spee...

Re: Odd Headlight Switch

Well, the problem is you really cannot see anything. I cannot help but think something will turn up.. my parts bud has a line on something that might work. There is also a guy here in SW-Wash St that specializes in vintage Falcons.. I'll hit him up too.. seems very knowledgeable.. Good thought on th...

Odd Headlight Switch

60' Comet again... So I have this great vintage parts store close by. You might pay a few extra bucks but often you get NOS parts which are better quality than what you get at up and down the street auto parts stores these days.. Anyway.. I ordered a headlight switch for the Comet, looked identical ...

Re: Fuel pump.. vacuum wipers

One last question if I may... So any vacuum source for the wiper system? I know off the intake log under the carb is a vacuum nipple... could I use that to power the wipers? Hope this is not a silly question, I've never owned a car with vacuum wipers. Ar there any other hidden access ports for vacuu...

Thanks for the info! Greatly appreciated. The car is not stock, so the alternator upgrade is going to happen.

Wire repair

Hi all, I'm just starting to get my hands around my little comet. Before I attempt to get it running, I noticed some very bad (frayed, bad splicing from past repairs) wiring just behind where the battery sits on a 60' The wiring appears to be the generator wiring.. a fairly thick yellow wire, that's...
