Re: Cut and See

82F100: I would rather not say for now, as many of them troll this site. Not that I have anything to hide, but some can be very judgmental, and I'd rather show them on the track. When all is said and done, I will happily show my cards (and Dyno sheets) so everyone can see. If I have knowledge, I'll ...

Re: Cut and See

FTF: Thanks for the input. No welding dimples make it easier. Also, maybe I'll save the experiments for a different intake. I'm picking up a local 240 head tomorrow and I'll see what I get. $50.00 Another local lead is in a 81 Granada for $700 (whole car). I don't have the time or space to part out ...

Re: Cut and See

Pmuller9: Thanks for sharing the knowledge. I'll call him to see what we can come up with. I really want to run the HEI with just a power wire and tach, but I don't think that will cut it. I have a 6AL I plan to use with the factory distributor pickup. Leftover from dirt track days. Ideally if money...

Re: Cut and See

And local group has no restriction on year of motor. Must be in-line. Could be 4, 6, 8 cylinders, but has to be a factory made automotive engine that was in production. Many arguments can be made about this or that engine, forein engines, industrial, etc, etc, etc, but I'm building a Ford 300.

Re: Cut and See

OK guys.....I know the Hamb rules, but I'm building a Hamb "TYPE" dragster. I'm racing with a local group where the rules are iron head and block, must be factory block & head, but PP is allowed. FTF: My build starts like this: 300/240 block (I already have one block 0.030 over ready t...

Re: Cut and See

Pmuller9 thanks for that input. I have access to a sonic tester from work and plan to use it. We machine castings so we use it all the time.

Worst case ( and most expensive) is to buy from auto parts store and forget about core refund.

I have one more thing I need help with. HEADS!!! I want to section a 240 head. I know this has been done and there are...
