The process is called Centrifugal ISO Finishing. The company that I'm talking to is in Washington State. That's a file picture that he sent me , I wish it was my crank. I'm guessing it's a Toyota crank. From his info the process is not for the faint of pocketbook! There are YouTube videos.

Re: Tractor Puller

Mechanical roller cams require much more spring than a solid flat tappet cam because of the high ramp rate of the roller cam. One of our BBC roller cams is 300 lbs closed and 800 lbs at .700” lift. The Comp 7228 conical spring will give you around 400 lbs open at .600” lift which should keep the li...

Ok, I was confused, that makes sense now.
As far as springs go, I'm getting .1 longer 2.02 &1.6 valves installed . Having the head done in roughly a month and will get the installed hight at that point. I'll figure the springs out then.

I've been looking at this for awhile as well. It will require major money to do and would only be useful for a handful of people. But still an interesting what if. You and I had talked about a hydraulic roller. I would like a cam that I can put in the 300 if need be. Whatever cam you put in the 240 will run about 1000 rpm less in a 300. Sandboxer, I think I have a SBF crank adapter. I'll have to do some digging for it, been awhile since I've looked at it. Trying to remember if I still have an adapter plate as well. 1/2" aluminum.

Should have the X,Y and starter pilot hole size as well for both 157 and 164 tooth flex plates.

A question for the guys using 302/351 Ford pistons. Does the fact that the intake/exhaust valve reliefs are reversed vs a 300 cause any issues? I'll be using Chevy 383 stroker domed pistons with a long alum rod and those will only need a touch of cleanup around the chamber edges.

If I remember correctly, most crank throws are elliptical, not round. Won't machine well. Way before stroker kits were commonly available, I had to reduce the counterweights on a 460 crank. Ended up being easier and quicker to use a hand grinder to do it all. My 2 cents.
