Re: Help Please - Rear main seal rotating

Did you get all the oil out of the groove before installing? I use alcohol and swab it out well.

Re: 1966 Mustang manual steering ididit collumn installation question

Okay, so either no one ever used an ididit column or no one has ever closed up the gap in the shaft flange. Either way I am surprised. :)

Re: Anyone ever have any trouble with CJ Pony Parts?

I have received rusted parts from them and they also took 2 1/2 months to deliver upholstery from TMI but that was the fault of TMI who drop shipped it to me. The rusted parts were replaced when I sent a photo of the parts to them, but it's still a hassle that could have been avoided if they only lo...

1966 Mustang manual steering ididit collumn installation question

I am putting an ididit tilt column in my Musang and there appears to be no way to seal up the shaft where it exits the box as the original had the column all the way to the box and the new one stops about 5 or 6 inches away and uses a coupler to marry the old and new column together. With the top op...

Re: Question about a rocker assembly for the I6 200

 excellent and congrats it looks right to me! Did you verafy that the one towers oiling passage lines up with the heads oil port? Good luck   Yeah, all towers are the same, they have square holes for the bolts that act as oil passages, the oil port in the head is under the numbe...

Re: Question about a rocker assembly for the I6 200

Mine seem to line up somewhat better than the ones in the reference photo.

Re: Question about a rocker assembly for the I6 200

I tried to edit a post, but it didn't work. Anyhow, I got it all together, but the towers seem like they are slightly too wide and make the rockers slightly off center of the valve stems. The rockers move freely and were also installed with some Lubriplate as were all the other parts. It just doesn'...

Re: Question about a rocker assembly for the I6 200

There is no corrosion at all, they were still sealed in the original packaging. It's a lot tighter than just 'slide them on' fit though. Even lubed first, it's too snug to just slide them on. Are there different sizes of tower bores or shaft diameters? Is it possible they got the wrong ones?

Re: Question about a rocker assembly for the I6 200

Thanks for that information. It corresponds to my thinking with the tightest spot being the bottom with the upward pressure of the pushrods and springs, but I could not find an image of one during the assembly process to confirm it. The towers I have are very tight, almost a press fit tightness, doe...

Question about a rocker assembly for the I6 200

I received the parts in bags to build the assembly with a car I bought and there are no instructions to assemble the rocker assembly itself. There was no assembly on the head in the car, just bags of new parts. My question is: Do the square oil ports for the rockers go facing up or down in the assem...
