Re: '65 200 engine

Hey Mike, I live on Vancouver Island, Canada.... not too many made it out here. This is the first inline 6 besides a 300 that I've seen. I don't care about the small log if I go the route of chopping it off and putting a different intake on. Oh, and I have no idea why the motor is apart. I was \goin...

Re: '65 200 engine

Sorry for the confusion... the pic is the engine I was thinking of getting. I need a running car so I'm looking for an engine or a head to rebuild to accept the Holley conversion or a tri-power, and then do a quick swap for minimal down time.

Re: '65 200 engine

Well, I was thinking of either using the head for a tri power, or using the entire engine for a runner. All parts are there apparently My issue is that I need my car on the road, yet I want to rebuild an engine for more performance. For the life of me I can't seem to find a 250 anywhere around me. I...

'65 200 engine

Hey all! I have a chance to buy a complete running 200 from a 65 Mustang, and I was wondering if the engine is worth turning into a performance engine? I mean one that has more pep in its step, not a 1/4 mile rod. I also wondered if the dizzy from my 250 will fit it since I have electronic ignition ...

Re: I'm waffleing!

So I've been thinking and I'll keep the 250.... Here's the reasoning: Ever since I got this car, I wanted to keep it as stock as possible with few upgrades. "Period correct" performance parts as it were. The 302 would've been nice but it sounds like a lot of trouble for little return. I CO...

Re: I'm waffleing!

Doh...

I do have this 1975 302 to rebuild...I'm just wondering what parts to put into it to make it better.
I'm not looking for a race car, just a bit of a sleeper.

Regards, Alex

Re: I'm waffleing!

My car had the option for the 302 and the 351 for it and the frame is the same apparently. My carb is a carter YFA with the throttle shaft worn out. Even with a rebuilt carter from a maverick grabber on it it sucks ass for acceleration. I'm looking for a way to have better get up and go with minimal...

I'm waffleing!

Hi all, it's been awhile since I've posted.... darn health issues. Anyway, as a refresher I have a 1975 Granada with the 250 six and a c4 trans but the carb is toast. I recently bought a period correct 1975 302 with a rebuilt c4 on it for a good price. Now, I need the car daily since I cannot walk v...

Re: 75 Granada pitman arm

Wow I feel a bit stupid. Thanks for all the answers! I swung wrenches for Volvo so I'm used to rack and pinion, not fords version. It looks like the steering control valve ball stud bushing is worn out. I'm thinking of getting a kit for it but I've seen a lot of warnings against using them. Sorry fo...

Re: 75 Granada pitman arm

Now here's a weird thing... I found this: http://www.syd.com.mx/index.php?ver=catalogo&producto=K-8215&auto=D124&marca=D&cat=AM&modelo=MD2513&idioma=eng Which says Granada from 1975 to 1980 with no mention of ms or ps except for certain models of mustang. But if you go by it'...

Re: 75 Granada pitman arm

Argh... no dice. Apparently a 1975 granada never had power steering according to the internet. I can find maverick, comet, ranchero's but no granada. Was it that expensive an option back then?

75 Granada pitman arm

Hello everybody, I've been mentally going over what I need for my car tonight and I've been beating my head against a wall. I need a new pitman arm and all I can find are manual steering ones. I can't seem to find a power steering arm to save my life. Any suggestions? I'm really new to the ford plat...
