I'm running 9.75:1 CR with a Schneider 140 cam. 1.94 and 1.6 valves. Clifford intake and headers. 450cfm 4bbl and HEI ignition. It runs on 91 octane great. Havent dynoed it yet but I estimate 250 hp and 350 ft/lbs.

I've never had that problem with my Clifford. As far as I know, the Offy is built to use the factory manifold type of heat, whereas the Clifford has a long water jacket on the bottom of the manifold.

Did you readjust the carb due to the difference of the DP and the open Clifford?

The Davis unit I'm running is great. I did have to sand down the seat area where it goes into the block. It was about .002 too big.

The TFI coil will bolt right to the bracket I sent you, if you go that route.

Yep, I got to ride in it when we were both in Moab for the Bronco Safari a few weeks ago. It's got great power and smooth performance. Definitely a good build.

I too used their lifters, since they wont warranty the stick if you dont. Jerry originally recommended the 131H for me, but I wanted a bit bigger. PMuller helped me choose the 140H. No, the engine perches are i6 or v8 specific. You'll have to swap them out.

Wires for an engine to run depends on ignition. Basic needs are coil and distributor.

Use a starter and flex plate for a 300, but the 302 trans and converter will bolt up.

Anything by David Vizard is a good read. I have his book on Holley carbs and it's very very helpful. Has the basics, the advanced stuff, and tips and tricks from racers and engine professionals.

Nice tips!

I have one of those hanging motor die grinders. The motor hands on a peg hook and the actual die grinder is attached to it with a 3 foot cord. Speed is controlled with a foot pedal, like a sewing machine. I really like it, and it's easy to control.

Well it worked for a while. The thin ears bent out and one broke, after 2hrs of trail driving. I got it fixed enough to be able to drive to camp and back in tomorrow to get the new one.
