Re: 1968 Ford F250 with 4.9 ltr six

There's no EGR on it. Just the old PVC valve in the valve cover and the tube from the valve cover to the air cleaner. Just the basic smog set up from the old days.

1968 Ford F250 with 4.9 ltr six

Howdy all, I have a 1968 ford F250 with an 80's 300 six in it.It had a 240 in it and that's where the carb set up came from. When I drive it, it has a slight surge under load. I've tuned it up and rebuilt the Carter YF carb on it and adjusted the metering rod in the carb correctly. It only does it u...

1968 Ford F250 with 4.9 ltr six

Howdy all, I just picked up a 1968 Ford F250 with a late model ( was EFI) 300 six in it. They put the 240 intake and exhaust on it and it runs good but lacks the torque going up hills. It has a Dana 60 rear axle with 4:10s in it. I know that if I install the late model split exhaust manifolds, that...

1968 Ford F250 with 4.9 ltr six

Howdy all, I just picked up a 1968 Ford F250 with the 300 cu. in. six and 4 speed transmission. It has the Dana 60 rear axle with 4:10 ratio. The engine runs good but doesn't seem to have much power in the hills. My question is, it has the original 240 stock carb on it. Is that carb jetted too smal...
