They’ve been using EGR in turbo diesel applications for NOx reductions for decades. Even new tier 3 emissions diesels can use egr systems instead of urea injection. Gas auto engines have been using VVT to eliminate egr systems. It’s all in regulation, and emissions compliance.

There’s a large barb on the carb below the throttle blades for the pcv, a small ported vacuum barb, and another small vacuum hookup.

Since I plan to turbo the engine I was hoping to run the welded barb to a vacuum reservoir with a check for the power brakes:

A blow-off valve would solve the over boost problem when the throttle plate closes. Either open vent or recirculated to the air box would be fine.

Just a word of advice, if you do run any caustic substance through the engine, neutralize it when your done. You won’t ever get all the solution out without pulling the engine, so run a gallon or two of vinegar through it.

I’ve had a few spark plugs on cyl 6 loosen up and cause a misfire before in my old truck. It’s important to retorque everything after a few heating cycles to make sure nothing moved.

Check your driveline fluids, and your wheel bearings. Also look for dragging brakes, or sticky ebrake pedal. You have to remember these are 20+ yr old vehicles, and maintenance goes a long way

I was looking into a similar setup, divided pipes into the flange and twin external wastegates. I’m using a tp38 from a first gen Powerstroke. It’s a counter rotation turbo I don’t know if that placement would work though.
