Re: My 63 Mercury Econoline "Grimstone"

You found a treasure. That's awesome to have parts vans and one to turn into a trailer. That'll be awesome going down the road.

Re: Anyone here successfully running an aftermarket EFI System, Megasquirt, Holley Hp, Sniper, Atomic, FITech?

I was planning on running a 4 bbl but have been rethinking the idea. I am contemplating using a FiTech system. I spoke with a guy that successfully ran one on a 2.3 Liter Pinto motor. Before I do that, I will be conferring with Bruce and Paul to get their input. It will cost more, but I'd really lik...

Re: Tractor Puller

This thing should be a beast. I can't wait to hear how you're doing. I'm imagining this thing with a new set of aluminum Sr. heads on it. The guys running the big blocks have got to be scratching their heads when they see how competitive a "measly li'l 6 cylinder" can compete with them. Gi...

Re: Aftermarket 300 Rod opinions?

I'm thinking this one over because I am already feeling the itch to throw some nitrous at this big 6. It won't be very often. Since I only drive it occasionally, I would only spray it occasionally. (Because I'm not smart enough NOT to!)

Re: 68 F100 Upgrade suggestions

Since this is going to be mainly a street cruiser, I've been thinking about going with an Edelbrock 600 cfm carb. Any opinions on whether I should go with a Holley over the Edelbrock?

Re: What to Do With This Ford ’93 F-150

The body looks good. It depends on what your intended use is for the truck as to whether to rebuild/replace the 300 or go to a V8. If you are needing some power at/above 300 hp it will be cheaper to transplant a V8. If you are just wanting good reliability and a little better mileage, the 300-6 is c...

Re: Factory 68 F100 Rear Gas Tank?

That's a good idea. When it dries out a little here, I will probably see about dropping it and taking it to a radiator shop. If they can assure me that it is clean, I don't mind using it again. Thanks Bubba

Now that's some cool stuff right there. I can only imagine the memories, with the family, wrapped up in those cars.
Thanks for sharing that with us FTF.

Factory 68 F100 Rear Gas Tank?

This may be a stupid question. My 68 F100 has a rear gas tank. I have no idea if it is original or an add-on. I was thinking that they did not come with a second tank from the factory in 68 but not certain. The older gentleman that originally owned it modified it at some point with an aftermarket sp...

Re: 68 F100 Upgrade suggestions

Well I definitely agree on the easier to work with single carb intake. That is actually a relief to hear because I am more familiar with a single 4 bbl than dealing with twins. I found some New Old Stock EFI exhaust manifolds I will purchase right away. Is the 390 cfm adequate or is a larger carb mo...

Re: 68 F100 Upgrade suggestions

Here's a surprise. After reading more about the new heads in the making, I am re-thinking my build idea. It sounds like I really do "NEED" one of these heads. As you very knowledgeable members already know, I do not know enough about the particulars of this engine to know what pieces I nee...

Re: 68 F100 Upgrade suggestions

Fordman, makes sense to me but I have never seen the stock cam specs so I thought the 260 was a little more than stock. Well, would the Comp 268 be a better choice then, or how about one of the Howard's cams? I noticed they have a fairly wide selection. Frenchtown, That would be awesome. Thanks for ...

Re: 68 F100 Upgrade suggestions

I've heard the EFI exhaust flows good but I thought there were issues with it fitting with an aftermarket intake. Does the cam sound like it will work correctly with the mods? I'm fine with the Clifford dual intake and dual Autolites. The Autolites are throwing me though. I'm discovering a multitude...

68 F100 Upgrade suggestions

In making upgrades to my stock truck, I do not have a target number of HP/torque. I am simply looking for an increase in power. This is not a race truck and it won't become one; it may tow one, though! It is a '68 F100 lwb 2wd automatic 300 and a camper shell that has been on it since new. No plans ...

Re: Permanent 300 Six Cyl Head CFM solutions- A Work in Progress

After recently buying a '68 F100 with a 300 auto, I started searching the internet for info. Reading through this particular thread got me motivated. I first made a small donation for the work on the heads and then I joined this site. I am not wanting to build a 300 race engine, at this point, but i...

Re: Mysterious Radical Race Engine

I'm not a facebook member. Can someone contact this guy to see if the owners would be willing to let a casting be mode of the heads? This would be a nice addition to the work that WorldChampGramps and others are doing for a set of aluminum heads.
