2 Speed Fordomatic

Hello! I have some questions about finishing the install of a 2 speed Fordomatic in my 61 Comet. It has "PCF" on the transmission's ID tag if that helps with any of my questions I've got it in the car and all the linkage hooked up, but there are 2 details that are throwing me for a loop. I...

Re: Autolite 2100 linkage?

Dang since I got this old 2-speed Fordomatic, I probably can't go the Lokar Throttle Cable route.....on account of having to use/keep the old kickdown linkage to the Fordomatic. Hopefully I can figure something out. Guess I'll keep reading and searching!

Autolite 2100 linkage?

Hello! I have a 61 Comet that I put a 200 straight six out of 68 mustang into. It has a 2 Speed Fordomatic Transmission. I want to run an Autolite 2100 on my 200 engine. I have the correct adapter plate for the intake, just need to figure out the throttle linkage. Has anyone done this before? I have...

Alternator bolt size

Can any one give me some alternator bolt sizes?

Its on a 200 straight six out of a 68 Mustang.

I really just need the size on the shorter one that goes thru the curved bracket that allows you to slide it left or right to adjust the tension on the drive belt.

Thanks so much!

Re: Ford Duraspark on a 1968 200 CID

@B RON CO What's the best way to swap the distributor then? You mentioned pulling the old one would make the hex shaft hard to get back into the oil pump......do I need to drop the oil pan when I install the new Duraspark Distributor? So I can make sure the hex shaft is engaging the oil pump? Thanks...

Alternator bolt sizes

Can any one give me some alternator bolt sizes? Its on a 200 straight six out of a 68 Mustang. I need the long bolt that goes thru the alternator and also the bolt that goes thru the curved bracket that allows you to loosen and slide it to add tension to the drive belt. Anyone got those 2 bolt sizes...

@powerband

Yeah I actually have a MSD 8200 coil sitting around. Sounds like all I need to do is find a distributor!

Ford Duraspark on a 1968 200 CID

Can I put a Ford Duraspark distributor on a 1968 200 straight six engine? I have a wiring harness and an ignition control module box. So I just need a distributor. Will any Duraspark distributor that was on a 200 CID engine work? Or do I need something more specific? Thanks for any info! -Andrew

Re: Which engine for a 1961 2 speed Auto Trans?

@B RON CO Thanks for the reply and info! I didn't know about the pilot bushing, so I will be sure to remove it as this 68 engine was originally mated to a 3 speed manual. I have an intake manifold that will let me run a 2 barrel carb that I planned on putting on this engine. And I have a carb to go ...

Re: Which engine for a 1961 2 speed Auto Trans?

Would a 200 out of a 1968 Mustang also work with that old 2 speed automatic?

The deal with the 1966 engine fell thru.

I can post a picture of the bellhousing on the 2 speed automatic if that helps!

Re: Which engine for a 1961 2 speed Auto Trans?

@powerband Thanks for the quick reply. I guess that old 200 our of my friend's 66 should work then!

I know the C4 is the better tranny, but right now my goal is getting the Comet back on the road ASAP. Maybe I can look at adding a C4 to it at a later time.

Thanks again!

Which engine for a 1961 2 speed Auto Trans?

Hello, I have a 1961 Comet with a 2 speed automatic transmission that needs a new engine. It originally was mated to a 170 straight six, but I was thinking of finding a 200 straight six for it. Will any 60s model 200 work? Or do I need to be stick to certain years? I know a guy that has a 200 out of...

Transmission for a Big Bell 200

Hello! Totally new here, so this is my first post. I'm trying to find a C4 transmission for a Big Bell 200 straight six engine I have. I've looked at 2 different C4s so far and none of them line up with the bolt holes on the engine. Based on my research here on the forum it looks like I need a C4 th...
