I asked if he should do the valves first and he said no, but since you brought that up I think I will have him rough them in as you say. seems like it would make my life easier and I would have less chips to clean out in the end.

Well both the block and head passed magna flux and are getting media blasted tonight. I should get the head back tomarrow for my port work. I am going with 1.75 intake and 1.5 exhust the springs with dampners from CI. I wanted the Duel carb but the weber 2 bbl is tall so that will get direct mounted...

This is asked almost every time a head comes off. Are you going to change the cam while your at it? This mod can help with a multitude of things. Although my engine is a full rebuild (going there later to check results of magna flux) many people change the cam when the head comes off.

Thanks for bringing that up. I've seen the 200's set up with that hood but your right a 250's 1.5" higher deck it probly wont. And with the rebuild and all I doubt I could afford the CI with three side draft carbs :( . Well I'm on my way to get it now I'll let youguys know how it turn out later.

Like another said you do have to heat a wraped system up. My brother raced asphalt sled and wraped them which helped a lot in the small engine compartment. With the Ford six and the intake on the same side as the exhust anything you can do to help the eliminate the heat would help.

Goes way too fast :lol: .The engine was painted while in the car. I painted the passenger side when I put the header on and painted the driver side when I replaced the dizzy. I call it the poor mans engine rebuild.

I could not have said it better addo. I was very dissapointed. As far as sound I'll have to live with it. Yes they welded just about everything together and I did get the clamps back. The way they did it is just going to make it harder for me to do other mods in the future like the T-5 swap.

Well finally the header is in. Broke one bolt on the old manifold coming out. Going to the muffler shop tommarow. The DUI and valve cover are in the mail right now (Thanks Mike). So the after pics are coming soon :D . Once its all in I'll have to update my signature.

The rod came out fine after a little penitrating lube. I still can not seem to get that sleeve apart. I pryed it chiseled it and finally grined it back smooth and put it back together :bang: . Any other ideas?

I plan on changing the bushings but not sure how to seperate the sleeve that holds the old one together. If any of you have done this a little help would be appreciated. The sleeve seems to be compression fitted on the two washers.

Along with his thought on the clutch is it adjusted right. You said you had the engine rebiult? If it idles fine and will rev when out of gear check to make sure the clutch is adjusted correctly.

The aluminum was out due to I did not want to put it on a non rebuilt bottom and it would take more than all the budget to get it done right. Everything I have bought will go with a rebuild later.
