Without getting into all the details of what I did today, lets just say it's all working fine. I don't know what was wrong in the first place so I don't know what solved the issue. I thought that too, I have checked the sending unit and no plugs. It has to be 4" piece of pipe, sending unit, tank or vacuum.

I followed Sandiero and WSA111 advice and have completed the mod of the 1100 carb. When I put it back on I had fuel coming out of the top of the carb after idling for a few minutes. wsa111 was correct and the electric pump solved the stall issue. Thanks Bill. The only issue which remains is the idle speed. As I drive around town the idle can vary between 550 and 1200 rpms. Thanks Bill, by the gas tank? Do you have one you recommend? I do not know how old the fuel sending unit is and I have had the car for 14 and a half years. I am sure it has seen better days also. What do you think?

Econoline wouldn't that effect all types of fuel useage? Everything was working fine I just had a carter RBS carb which was too rich and fowling out plugs so I swapped out this Autolite 1100. I have never been able to take the car out for a drive with this rebuilt carb.

Soldmy66 & Chad. The filter is brand new. It is located between the pump and the carb. Since Aluminum is not a friend I will swap that out.

Here is why I think my problem could be vapor lock. Car idles fine in garage. Fuel pressure gauge reads 6. I can drive around subdivision no stall outs maybe around 20mph. Take it out on highway get going about 45-50mph and about a mile the engine stalls out. within 5-10 minutes of stalling the car ...

My biggest problem right now is general driveability. There is a nose dive hesitation when I accelerate. Also once on the way to the gas station it stalled when I took my foot of the gas peddle like at 20-25 mph. If I set timing to best idle speed it's off the charts advanced. Should I start there?

I set the float just as you stated. I am only at 2.5 turns so I will try three. That still leaves the choke as an issue. I will be busy tomorrow and Friday. Try on the weekend thanks.

I know as a role this combo does not make the most sense. Jackfish Vacuum advance is ported. Bubba I am not sure of myself and vacuum tuning. Also do not have enough experience reading the plugs. The new plugs seem to have solved the rough running and this morning went for a short drive with 3 stops and it seems to run just fine. Questions linger, like why the plugs fouled in the first place? I am using a Carter RBS carb. I have replaced the plugs gapping them to .045 because I have a DSII Ignition with a Pertronix flamethrower coil. The engine is now idling nicely at 750rpm when warm. I have still to check the vacuum and timing.

Well this honkey white trash anglo saxon was out doin' 3500rpm and 75mph in 4th gear. So with that being said. should I go with the 10w40 again like last time? I noticed my oil pressure was alittle under 15lb upon my return from my law breakin escapade.
