Re: Fuel Economy Experiment

I suppose the 8.8" axle was never offered with a 2.47:1 ratio? I probably do not want to go to that tall a ratio since I intend to go up to a 31" tire after these ones wear out. That will make my 2.73:1 gears act like 2.55:1 gears which is pretty close to the 2.47 ratio anyway. As a matte...

Re: Edelbrock 1404

the fuel still has to go thru the main jet to get to the idle circuit... I don't know if that is true, but even if it is, at idle speed it is the idle mixture screw that is by far the biggest restriction to fuel flow. You can change the idle and off-idle mixture from very lean to very rich just by ...

Re: Edelbrock 1404

you might need to pull the top...

find the size of the metering rods and jets and then get the manual via the carb website...then you can figure which way to go.

I'd first dial in the air bleed screws, turn them in until the engine stumbles then back them out 1/2 turn and start there.

I know the 300-6 should have roughly 58psi pressure. Mine does not when warm. The other day my front pump started acting up and the truck started bucking and jerking and running real stupid.
