Re: New to the group

Welcome to the Ford Six forums XP4TURA, sounds like a fun build. When you can post some pictures of details on the 221 rarely do we get to see much in the build up of 188 or 221 engine blocks here in the US. Good luck

Re: car jumping in gear

I think I have electrical problem. I drove today, it was ok. I turned on lights, it started to choke, I turned lights off ran fine. Where to look? First place to start with an electrical problem is to test the condition of the battery charge and make sure it's fully charged and do a load test. Many...

:hmmm: There are a few things that can cause the idle mixture screws to have little or no effect in leaning out the mixture or by what I mean as completely out of the idle circuit. Re: 7.25 Diff Crush Sleeve difference?

You will for sure need to use a new crush sleeve once they are used or even when they over tightened such as when setting up the pinions bearing preload they then need to be replaced. Oherwise the pinion gear depth is going to be set wrong and the gear patern will also be wrong this will quickly res...

Hello, I did some carb/ignition changes last week to see the effects on the problem. When I go back from full manifold to ported vacuum, the problem degrades significantly. When I reduce initial timing from 20 to 15 in addition the surging nearly disappears. IMS screw changes had no effect. The rea...

Re: car jumping in gear

Yes in order to recommend a good coil to you would need to know what model of Pertronix you have! Replace the PCV if it's old. Not a lot you can do about worn rings besides replace them if the blocks bores aren't worn too bad. I guess you could also try some good engine flush, then fresh oil and fil...

If there isn't any freon in the system due to a leak or leaks the compressor won't work until that's taken care of, or its refilled. Ie it has a pressure switch in the system to protect it. Good luck

Re: 67 mustang - 300 head vs 200 head

Yes and No. Yes, the 80-84 200 head will bolt directly on your 67 engine, the 250 head will also. The No side of the equation is the size of combustion chamber of both the 200 and 250 heads. The original head on your 67 had a combustion chamber size around 53cc. Both the 250 head and later 200 head...

Yes The rocker arms internal thread sizes should all be the same and therefor interchange. The rocker arm adjuster nut size can be different though depending on the original part supplier so trying to match all 12 of them to one size is a good plan to follow.

The difference between the upper and lower radiator hoses shows the radiator is doing its job. If the radiator cap is still good (it might be a bit weak), also the hoses are in good condition (i.e. Not soft and or is collapsing) plus you have a properly rated T Stat installed of at least 180 to 194....

Yeah a 1/4 inch line is a bit small even for a stock engine. On a street performance car I usually run a minimum of a 3/8 inch fuel from the fuel tank forward to the carb' or for multi carb system using a fuel log the short run to carb's you could use 5/16 line. Good luck

If it's in the heads cooling passage than it could work ok. Still the rear head location for the temp sender would read at a little hotter tempature than if the sender being at the front of the head this is due to the water pump / t stat housing location and operation. Good luck
