got under the valve cover today and adjusted some valve lash. hope it solves a slight valve tap sound i was having. noticed some cracked fuel line hose and vacuum line leading to the wiper motor. guess thats next on the list !

well, i was able to move the trans a bit towards the passenger side. the vibration changed for the better. instead of a throb , it is more constant and less obvious. i checked the alignment of the rear universal and there really isnt any room for it to move from side to side with the c-clips there. ...

Did you have any of the vib's before you fixed it? Besides the u joints did you also change the yoke? :hmmm: If it did not have the vib before than it has to be the drive shaft itself and or the angels that the u joints operate at. :shock: I.E. height and angles of the axle pinion height up or down...

i saw that bushing listed at mac's for the 200 6 cyl. i am just curious why they wouldnt list all the motors and only the 200 and only specify 1964? even if they are indeed the same. i just hate ordering the wrong crap man. also i hate to beat a dead horse, but can you recommend a bushing puller and...

thanks bubba, however i didnt see a bushing in there on my auto. when reading the shop manual, i was to understand that only the manuals had this bushing? if im wrong i stand corrected, also , the new seal i put in had the rubber boot extention on it which seemed to be in line with the one pictured ...

well, finally got down to it this weekend. just wrapped up tonight. replaced tailshaft seal, pinion shaft seal, dropped tranny pan / cleaned up / painted / new gasket in. same goes for rear end cover , all which were leaking / weeping. oh... while i was in there.. replaced all shocks with KYB gas-ad...

thanks crosley... i believe was a rebuild within 5 years or so. i was looking in the original manual for recommended fluids , but wasnt sure if there was something better and more modern now that guys are using.

yeah , i saw a couple on ebay from a 55 / 56 ford and was thinking about it. however , they were usually on cars with a longer tail and i was wondering if anybody saw these on a falcon and if they looked stupid in actuality..

ive looked through the massive photo album in this forum but havent seen a car with them. has anybody witnessed this? i can picture it looking prettly slick a few inches aft of the C pillar on each rear quarter, but maybe different in person.

well, i checked vaccuum, air/fuel. ended up addin a couple of degrees of timing.. and whoala...acceleratin nicely now.

just actuated it again with different degrees of speed. it went from a stream to a strong wider stream. definitly not atomized as you described

i had somebody else tell me it was a 5059. does that sound possible? i checked the function of the accelerator pump. the linkage looks fine and when i pump it, a solid stream of fuel comes out. does this leave me with a timing issue? i have attached some pics of the carb. car starts , idles and runs...

yes, mine is aluminum, and i tried polishing with a couple of products, but it seems like it is painted. it definitly isnt bare aluminum....
