Yes, the stock rigid plastic dog house. I was bashful shimming the motor mount (1/4" aluminum plate) and a little more would have made closing off the hole easier...less difficult I mean.

I don't know the difference between the two intakes as far as your exhaust headers are concerned - I have an Offy C with Clifford headers and diy intake water heat. The OEM FI headers have the advantage of starter clearance.

My shorty E 150 is real strong, and the 3.00 axle gives me all the passing umph I need since second gear winds out to 75. And the noise from the 6>2 exhaust is nuts. Then you would have what I have, a mid level 4v/header/rv cam 300 wasting gas through the C-6 behind it. I like the 700R4 option, because of the gear ratios, and also balk at what the adaptor costs. In addition, ethanol polluted gas makes a carbed engine run differently and you want to get in and go...

I used 3/8 npt fittings, which works but I would do 1/2 next time. I suspect the heater output is reduced. My winter in Cascadia is about like yours so I would recommend buying the tap. Be sure the fitting does not project into the shallow recess in the manifold.

Re: How many here have experience running the 300 with a CAR

I bought an E-150 with a ventilated doghouse that allowed the 390/Offy C to fit but the vacuum port on the secondary still hit and abraded the plug so I jacked and pried the engine on the manifold side enough to insert 3/16 shims under the motor mount. I don't recall a post or thread about heating an early Clifford manifold. An Offy C is easy since the holes are in place for mounting the plumbed plate. I also have the heated spacer, a Ford piece that matches a Holley; you might start with that if heating the manifold itself is daunting.

Lose the Y pipe and have unequal length overall from header to exit. Very rude and fun with minimal mufflers. I set off car alarms without trying on mine. The different lengths generate a beat in the sound that 6 into 1 doesn't. Very improper or something.
