Re: Lots of work to do on my 64½ Mustang

I would like to have that same Mustang and would possibly keep the 170 at least for awhile. You may want to investigate a T5 trans swap I know I would. It will give you a lower first gear and an od for the highway. It is a 5 speed od trans and will enhance the overall driving experience and in my op...

Those are two great vehicles. For the 200 build consider getting a copy of the Falcon Performance Handbook for tips on hop up mods. A warmed up 200 will be a good replacement for the 170. I had both the 170 and 200 in my 66 over the years.

As stated rebuilt carbs have been known to have problems occasionally. As long as it is removed you might be able to swap for another carb at rockauto just tell them it runs like crap with the 2100. Or refund and get one from Napa it might be better.

Oh so it’s a California girl those are the best from what I hear. That doesn’t sound like a lot of rust but it all takes work and I’m not a body man. But it’s worth putting money into. If you can just take your time and eventually get it the way you want them that’s good.

It may not fit easily but the Jeep 4.0 litre has stroker kits and other items like heads and more available. Not really Ford related though.

At one point in my life I had a very tired 170 in my 66 Bronco that deserved retirement. Back then you could go to most wrecking yards and get a decent used 200 which I did. Easy swap just used the opportunity to replace the clutch and did a new timing belt on the 200. You can still find 200 sixes i...

Also available is a chinese (I know) reproduction 1v 250 cfm carb pretty low priced on ebay. Under a $100. And a 2v you...

You have done some traveling in that Comet! I like that, they should be driven often in my opinion. Going from the 170/2 speed to your new hopped up 200 and c4 will be a huge difference. Smile time when pushing on the gas pedal. With that much power you could just go with a highway friendly axle rat...
