Yes sir that is a good strategy. I have a whole spare 250, 1979 I think, and a 200 with the big hex log head. I am currently looking for a late 200 with the big bell and another 250.

Cool Falcon to own I learned to drive in the same Falcon with a 170 and three speed. You could go to a 200 six and get very good performance. Look into getting a copy of the Falcon Performance Handbook. It has pretty much all the answers you need and will get you up to speed quickly.

Good buy on that head so congratulations. That head with a direct mount carb and cam sounds like what you need to go fast. Was the block for it a 200 or 250? Might be worth getting or disclose the location one of the members might be interested as the knock cause may not be fatal.

The bigger venturi is probably higher cfm. If you have the time you could keep looking around. You could probably benefit from getting a copy of the Falcon Performance Handbook as it covers in detail various autolite carbs and fitting them to the 170. From what i remember the 185 cfm Autolite from t...

HOwdy All: I used a factory air cleaner system off of an early eighties Ford LTD V8. It was slightly off-set and included the "Climatic Air" piping and valve as well. This was on my '65 Ranchero with a 250 engine so clearance of the hood required some minor modifications you may not need....

air cleaner on direct mount 2100

So if you direct mount a 2100 on a 200/250 will a v8 dropped base style Ford air cleaner fit? Say from a Mustang or F series vehicle with 2bbl carb (2150) and a v8. Anyone have this in a Mustang or Bronco? I would think in a Bronco it would be ok not sure about Mustang. The v8 air cleaner is a large...

If the torque of the 250 is appealing and you would also alternatively consider the work involved in a 5.0 swap why not consider a 250 / aod swap if an aod will fit in it. A 250 with a few mods is comparable to a stock 302 but equally as useful the od gear gives a whole new driving experience with r...

Yes those are valid considerations. After my NV3550 was all in I started adding up what it cost and it was kind of expensive. The fact that the M50 did not require the adapter to the block was attractive to me after the fact as I could have saved money on that part. You will enjoy that five speed dr...

That is a great looking Bronco. As stated check the block and head casting numbers just to know what you have. They are all similar but you could have a non original component. I think my 66 had a slightly later head. Do you plan to keep it 100% original?
