Sounds like a good plan. I might be interested in those headers when you pull them off. Let me know when that happens.

It looks like you have headers on it now. Do you know the details on those? If they are long tube Hooker headers those are pretty good headers. If you want some excellent info on various stages of performance mods get a copy of the Falcon Performance Handbook.

Hey that 65 Mustang is a pretty awesome ride. There is a slight possibility the donor Maverick did not have the original head on it. Yep it happens occasionally. There is a casting code on the head that will identify what year it was made. Among tons of other additional info the Falcon Performance H...

Cool it seems the ratios work fine with your 2.8 and yeah low rpm cruising on the freeway is a vast improvement! Head, cam and headers should give you quite a boost and compliment the T5. Nice setup for performance.

Re: 3 on the tree to a 4 on the tree

If I saw this before my NV3550 swap I probably would have gone with this trans. My original goal was to just get the od gear for more civilized highway use. I do enjoy having a close ratio 1-4 to go with the od 5th but the 250 has enough torque to make this toploader 1-3 gears perfectly useable. And...

If you’re talking about speeds in excess of 100 it could feel sort of floaty on the highway.

Nothing looks cooler than the triple carbs. I think you need to be a pretty good carb tuner/mechanic.
Another good upgrade to consider is the dual reservoir master cylinder.

The hoses ended up being a little work from what I recall and I can't remember what I ended up with. But at least one of them I am not quite happy with as I recall. I don't believe you can just order hoses that will fit well.

You seem to be inclined to acquire all the parts and put the money in to get a very capable driver and get it all done right the first time. You have already rebuilt your c4 which is an economical auto trans for sure but for truly fabulous highway flying at relaxing low revs consider an AOD. The ove...

I remember hearing about a stock 4 speed column shift in some Econolines that is a cool option to have. If you don't abuse the Dagenham will it be ok I wonder. And if you could get the linkage to work with the 3sp + od that would really be good.
