for speedway the 250 is not uncommen to be reved to 7500 it basicly comes down if it can still breath up there.
with the 200's 9000 would not be un herd of but rather high they average 8500.
should tell him to re hook his taco up to be 4 stroke not 2stroke

with the new doch engine there making over 400-450hp n/a on pump fuel and the turbo one's are making over 1200hp. this engine has basicly made all previous aussie six's redundent. a good turbo crossflow 250 will make around 600-800hp depending on fuel with 300-350hp being obtainable n/a the soch eng...

250's take big carby's really well gotta love that long ass stroke.
in my experience and what ive seen blow through setup's dont work.
id go mega squirt or run lpg/propane.

from the guys in aus hat ive found is a gt 35 is a decent dtreetable turbo.
with 900-1000hp 250's running gt42's

if it runs id just put the engine in get it runnng.
then get a 2nd engine a stand and a tension wrench which all up will prob cost $500+ then do that engine with no rush since it will be your first.

send a message to markze but he is running 500+hp with out any major mods basicly do the smallest bore out you can run acl 27cc dish duralite pistons stock rods preped and arp rod bolts a balance a bit of head work. there's a anther bloke stock 250 from cam to pistons running 290rwhp only mod heavye...

also alternatively could you get the dished piston shave to a flat top gove around 6-10thou resize an aftermarket conrod 100thou or more if possible give a 50thou shorter rod. offset grind a virgen crank down to 40 should give around 20thou. then have a 3mm shim gasket made. whould defintly be a n/a...

ok so i got thinking (scary) the pin hights are different between us 250 and aus 250 sitting the pistons further down in the bore. now whould it be possible to use the fordsix forged pistons with a stock deck and a 6in rod i think they might just be poping out of the block. this whould also allow us...

well they traced it back to det and dident end up getting a set of pistons but dident expect to gether. i think the det is due to bad fuel as the old log engine broke the ring lands out as welland did this the only time i raced with out and octane booster so anyone have this drama at all as ive aske...

when us speedway guys run hydrolic cams we run them so they rattle a touch.
only problem is they some times eat a push rod.

straght cut gears are done by crow i think as well but cost hp. unlike the holden red they have to have a 3rd idler gear to drive the cam this is drawn into the gear set binding it up slightly and costing around 5hp over a chain. due to the 3rd gear it also does not give any advantage in timing over...

just pulled the 2v down to find what went wrong busted ring lands on no3 piston. so being 10/15 year old acl pistons i doubt i can get 1 and with a slight lip in the bore and slightly different pistons most likly going to have smashed rings. so here's the plan get new block out to 30 is possible 40 ...

yeah looking at getting them for the road car later gased but they wont fit with what i have planed for the head as iam wanting to take the studs out to 7/16 threads so i dont pull any out. plus i may be able to run shorter pushrods and get a higher ratio done as well like 1.8 or 1.9 off a chev. fun...
