I'm using MegaSquirt on my build. Been operational for a few months now. Somewhat steep learning curve but doable. I removed the original carb, intake and exhaust and hand-built my own intake and fuel injection system to fit inside the engine compartment of my Econoline pickup. Runs great! https://...

I've already purchased reconditioned 240 rods, and it appears I'll skip the line hone based on FTF's argument.

So it looks like $1500 should be a reasonable base amount.

I went to my local ford dealership. They do not have that number, and can't find anything to cross reference. They looked up several years and say they all have a distributor...…….

Any idea's? Want to sell the one you have LOL?

I really think I can make one of these work. It may require some time in my lathe, but they look really close. I guess I'll have to make a trip to NAPA and do some measuring.

I need the opposite, I need the AC and do not need the Power Steering.

I was hoping to use the bracket to mount the snout of the super charger to, and to retain the factory tensioner.

The carb head I am using does not have the upper rear bolt for the Power Steering pump.

Any suggestions on how to fix this?

I'm not sure.

It is going in my 56. Part of me wants it blown, but the older I get this less hassle I want. It would be nice to just be able to start it and drive it without fear of a breakdown etc.........

Coming into this late but......... Can't you use a late model efi engines tfi distributor? Don't they have the sensor already in them, and just grind down all but one of the vanes? that the standard best way, though it leaves a distributor in place which is one reason a lot of fellas go edis or cop...

What type of pulley are you using on the balancer?

I had to have one custom machined for my S/C and I am running mine off of the existing serpentine belt, but went to an 8 rib setup.

The guys at holley reccommended running an LS truck coil system. 1 coil per cylinder, he said it would be much simplier than even there own waste spark system. I just wish someone could give me a definate answer on the 96 4.9L's distributor (If it actually has the sensor that will put out a PIP sign...
