i believe 65-66 mustangs and maverick rear axles are direct swaps.

my spare tire in my 72 4-lug mav is off a 65 comet and it fits. i dont think the 4 lug stuff on fox bodies and even pintos/mustang II's fits tho.

the retainer in the top of the spring was broken into a few pieces still sitting there. the spring was still inder the rocket tho in the right spot

my friends '63 170 falcon is black with a red valve cover and red air cleaner. by the time mavericks came areound they were all ford blue, the whole block. im not really too famiular with the earlier stuff. all the falcons and mustangs i see at car shows are usually done in red though

it should be a bolt in rear plus the front discs you really cant go wrong. some of those grandias have 9''s too i think

i know alot of maverick guys that would buy that rear for their car. espically at that price

a maverick rear would be a good fit

in 74 i believe 5 lug became standard along with front disc brakes

71-73 v8 mavericks had 5 lug drums on all 4 corners, the I6 cars were 4 lug

maverick disc spindles should swap right on to your 68 as well
