Re: 250 build thread for my 65 mustang.

That is an awesome build. I too have a 250 in my 65. What did you use for the motor mounts to lower the engine in the engine bay? I saw the pictures but cant tell what they are from. I'm running stock 200 mounts and the engine barely leaves any room for a carb or air cleaner. I used a 72 Maverick f...

I bought a 6 = 8 kit from Clifford Preformance and he says to zero deck the block. However with the new pistons the machine shop says to zero deck the block would mean to take off 140 thousands i know that is to much. How much can I mill the block. 10.5:1 w/ a 250 is a big ask. I see you've got an aluminum head and you're using a pretty big cam. With 50 1/2 cc chambers and stock size dishes you must have alot of leeway in deck height. You should make 180 RWHP and 200 RWTQ if not a little more with your build. I did a similar build with 10.5-1 C/R with a Clay Smith 274/274 110 cam advanced 4 degrees. I made 166 RWHP and 185 RWTQ. But I had a cracked piston and rings did not seal. So I left alot on the table.
