On my 63 Ranchero, I did the Scarebird disc on front and the Geo Metro power brake booster mod. Do a web search for the Geo Metro mod. And I did the Maverick 8 inch rearend.

Great improvements and DIY.

I am replacing my head gasket on my 73 Comet 250. The engine only has 14K original miles. Mine suddenly started over heating. There was sign of the gasket leaking on the drivers side of the block. The posted image does not show. It says to upgrade third party image in photobucket for $400 a year.

I am not sure if the set will fit. Call an auto parts store to see if there is a set for Ford. But, the manifold has studs, they may not work.

Do the bolts have the springs on them? Maybe the springs let the pipe move without loosening the nuts. Or may be double nut the bolts.

That is good info. I had not known there was a difference in the auto and manual starters. Also, I did not note the guy is in Dallas. I will go to his shop next week with my starter and see if we can make a match.

I found my issue, it was my very expensive starter perishing, maybe (undoubtedly) because I bubba'd it. I'm going to see about getting my spare head worked on and rebuilt while I find and source a 2 bolt mini starter (which i think will take a long time) and if it's ready in time, all the better. D...

I wish I could take credit for the set-up; but, I bought the engine that way. I just got it fire up on a single carb after 6 years. I am now moivated to get the Ranchero on the road. By the way it will be powered by 3 Autolite 1100's.

I'm not sure what would need to be done to use the Geo parts with front and rear drum brakes which need the residual pressure valves . Drum brakes don't need a power booster as much as disc brakes do . Nothing more needs to be done. The Geo setup is great and stops on a dime. I have added scarebird...

Big Bell 200's are 83's iirc and the casting code ends with BB also they are low mount starters that sit level with the oil pan. Thanks for the clarification. Does anyone know if the FE mini starter will fit a 1981 200 I6 block (E1BE-6015-FA)? It only has two mounting bolts. Is my block a big block 200?

I have an D5 head. I have milled and mounted the Holley 2V direct adapter. Can the head be machined for the larger valves same as the D8 head. And do all the other machine work. I have a 270 & 274 cam with a .040 over block. The pistons are dished in the center. I don't think the block was decke...
