I would expect somewhere around 160. Retry it with the throttle open. Also try it with one teaspoon of oil in each cylinder. I recently used a product called EVAPO RUST. Supposed to be save for cooling systems and it dissolves rust. Pricey though $22.00 a Gallon.

When cats go bad they sometimes crumble. The debris can clog a muffler. I would try running open pipe as a test or you could measure the exhaust pressure.

my main complaint is that the gas milage plain sux. ive been reading how a lot of you are getting close to 20 mpg, and I cant get more than 12mpg. One important factor in gas milage is how far is your main comute. I get no better than 13 mpg when driving a 3 mile one way comute with my 170 maverick.

You can still use stator terminal voltage via a relay so a full 13-14 voltage goes to the electric choke.I believe the stator terminal voltage is only 8-9 volts. IR gages are cheep but you could do it old school. Get an empty dish soap bottle and fill it with water. Squirt each exhaust runner with water and gage it temp from how the water boils off (or dosen't).

My 170 is running very lean and missing badly after I rebuilt my autolite 1100. It puts out a lot of white smoke when you hit the accelerator. What is this engine in? White smoke usually comes from water in the combustion chaimber. Is it losing coolant? Check around the carb base for a vacuum leak....

OK A couple of things you can do. Do to manufactoring atchtolerances no two bearings are exactly the same size. You can buy a new set of main bearing and mix and match them to try to get a closer fit. I would not fool around with the thrust main bearing. Get ARP main bearing studs for added strength...

Unless there is another 0 inther ie .0076 instead of .076 they are way too loose. Even at .0076 they are loose, main bearing clearance on a 1965 200 is .0007 to .0026. Are you sure you read the plastigage correctly.

I have the weber installed on two mavericks. I used the Altenator stator wire to switch a relay to send +12v to the choke heater.

This has the advantage of being on only when the engine is running rather then when the ignition switch is on.

You will read full Bat volts there if no current is flowing.

Two simple things you can try. First try to isolate it to one cylender by removing each spark plug wire one at a time and noting the results. If you're still up for a few tests you could.

Pull the spark plugs and examin them.

Do a compression test and if good try a leak down test.

Get a rig to pump air into the radiator and check for where the air leaks out if any.

Sound electrical to me.

Get a can of freeze spray from an electronics store and spray down components until you find the one that lets the engine restart and replace it.
