I have a freshly rebuilt 1940 1bbl on my 200. Using a curved duraspark from Bill and msd box and coil, it starts and idles perfectly. The issue is I know diddily about carbs. Silly timing question

So... in regards to the little tin marker on the block that has the 10...0...10 timing marks on it that I line up my dot to under the timing light, how to I set at say 18 degrees base timing when the marks stop at 10? Guessing Im way out of whack on how to set timing... take me to class please!

My father found a couple 1bbls he forgot he had. Thinks he got them with an 86 F250 with a 300 in it. No tags or markings I can see except for one that says Carter/Weber.

Hoping I lucked into something to replace my ho hum holley 1940. Thanks!

Maybe I missed it but speedway doesnt carry Champion and the only non $500 radiators they have are generics without brackets or tranny coolers.

Im up towards Spokane. Problem with the pick and pull yards up here is besides being scrounged over the minute an old car pulls in, they are mud pits this time of year. I might have a line on a Carter YF itself, will start the research on getting the linkages working.

Oh I know the Aluminum head will run better, and has way more potential to make better power across the board, I just havent seen yet where 150hp is better than 170hp when the difference is thousands of dollars.

I kind of like the idea of the newer 4.0 v6 with a 5 speed. I wonder what it would weigh out to compared to our inlines. The configuration would probably be a bit tight but possibly do-able between the shock towers. I would hate to have to cut up the trans tunnel though if the tranny was a bit large...
