The '71 Maverick 170 is C8DE block with 3 freeze plugs, DODE closed chamber head and used a C7ZA bellhouse with 3OTT 3.03 'toploader'. Other later 170 #s unknown . ..

I also use Smithy ( sp? ) mufflers under rear seat area on dual out Hookers exiting in front of rear wheels. I saved a pan from a 250 sitting in a swamp because of the rarity. After a muddy time removing it, I found a rod had banged around it and dented it out and made a small puncture. I used some raceway/duct hanger 'Versa-Bar' and a spare ' 50Chevy radiator. If you plan to actually run the engine, you need a BH, FW/ Cvtr or FW/clutch and tranny for starter with simple setup. .
