or course the best answer lies on checking flatness which I'm sure u have done,
it occurs in a shadowy way in my memory there has been talk about shrinkage more than warpage.

tune up first and ignition b4 tune up then exhaustas long as u know ur cat, is clear.
most problems can be traced to ignition out of spec.
checK everything twice then check again chances are it's spark.

yes, lines are different between the two transmissions, where they might interface is at the slave cylinder. if ur master has a role pin holding the line in the tip of the cylinder, test fit the zf line at that location. best educated guess on weight with factory manifolds is just under a 1000 pounds, about 800 is what a fellow who pulls with them guesses. alot less with custom manifolds. he think 800 a good working number a 460 is about that he say exhaust is 100 pounds intake 60 front pulley 50 etc 40 pound flywhe...

as for master cylinder,
I would try what u have first, if ur line will interface with the bearing.
see if they are parts sold seperately.
if so ur parts may fit the zf bearing actuator

my first attempt was a line off the water pump to number six. I'm trying to remember if the plug in back of the head is where that went. AN fittings in plugs don't work as I'm forced to put them in the recessed square drive area of the plug. limits size possibilities. using the br ass OEM style plug...

I have it on good authority that the big v8 will likely not fit in this bus.
John Driscoll who built that exquisite federal says his 455 pontiac fit only after a lot of finesse with grinder and steering.
so maybe 300 six is the best engine for this rig.

is it impossibly foolish to suggest that a coolant manifold introduce coolant at each of the 5 casting plugs in the block?
instead of at front of block?

eliminate belt driven pump, control temps more accurately.
the remainder of cooling system intact.

why ford does what it does, is a black art sometimes. but in this case the rear most cylinder is the hottest cylinder of the 6. thus it would seem a good idea to check temps there....perhaps. it may also simply have been convienant. your way over thinking this. the ford 460 with fords flat plate is all u need. the ford system leaks a drop when hoses get old or the block o ring goes bad. adding other leaks, is ur call, by adding the extra filters u doe risk that, but get added benefit too. one thing u haven't told us is if the r...
