You got some crazy stuff goin on. :bang: Have you concidered an exorcisim ? Sounds like you might have an exhaust restriction ? Bad Converter or muffler ? That would cause low vacuum, & blowing hoses off the intake manifold.

Yes on the low vacuum. a leak that big would lean out your fuel mixture. That would cause your pinging under load.

My vote would be a T3, smaller ar. (.48?) for more on the street. Larger ar. (.60) Drag strip. Thinking an IHI Turbo, of an 87-88 T-Bird Turbo Coupe would work nice. On a street 200/250 inline six. Both of those have standard Flange mounting. Look @ older rear drive Turbo Volvos too.

The .90 A/R is too large on the Turbine for a 300 six, unless ya turn it 5000 rpm or more. Might work ok on the Drag Strip ? I assume the Varible Vanes are on the turbine ? If they where workable, that would be a different deal? Thanks for the info., good to know :D

I have a Dynomax Ultraflow Alum. coated. Dual 2.25 in, single 3 in. out, mounted where the Cat. would go. Really like the sound, but worry it will get louder. It blows out a little fiber packing now & then. Might put a Turbo muffler out back, if needed. Have seen that dual X, like it too.

Sounds like you got a 77 or later 300 Truck Engine. To read Ford part #s, The first letter is the decade D= 70s, 7= 1977. Second letter is Body type, T= Truck. The rest describe what it is, Plant that made it & other info. You gonna owe us some pictures real soon :D

Might be just the fat washers that clamp down both the Intake & your Headers are not on right ? Im guessin your Gasket dropped down a bit, when ya put it together? (easy to do) Try looking up from under @ Gasket, to see if it slipped down. Loosen Manifold bolts, push Gasket up. Re-tighten bolts....

for low RPM torque you want short duration. Even 208°@.050 may be too much. I don't know about the Clay Smith cam but most of their competitors advertise cams in that range as having an effective which starts at 2000 RPM and goes up to 4500 or so. X2 on that. I know on a lot of Factory Turbo Systems. The piping off the Compressor most the time, would get a little smaller. (Saab, Nissan) But, they are Factory Street tune Cars.
