I think a good choice for a new Intake Manifold, would be like the aftermarket intake for the Slant six. An Aussie speed single 4V. But since the 300 six doesnt have the slant to it, the Runners would be a problem? :hmmm:

Remember, all the newer Engines have Rollerized Camshafts. So, they dont need the additive. Saw some plain ol Zinc additive @ parts store. Thinkin i should look online to see what Folks like to use best.

Propane has an octane rating of 114 ? If you keep the Boost @ 5-7 lbs. MAX, It should work fine. Look @ an Isky Turbo Cycle Camshaft. At low boost, you shouldnt need an intercooler. If it was needed, i would rather use a Meth./water spray (Snow Boost Cooler). You shouldnt want in Horse Power, since ...

I think both could be made to get fair MPGs. They both would have to have a heated Intake Manifold, & smaller Carb. sizes. A lot of Foriegn Cars had Dual Carbs., stock Factory. Mercedes Benz used a lot of Dual Downdraft Carbs., before Fuel Inj. was the norm. :nod:

Been running Diesel spec. oil for a while. My Machine Shop Guy says, they took the rest of the Zinc out of the oil a few years ago. Now i see Lucas makes their Hot Rod/Classic Oil, with zinc. I know there are others too. I see they sell a pour in additive. (not too sure if i trust that,yet?)

Maybe you should put some more time into figuring out whats goin on before ya swap Heads. Yes if ya put the 240 head on, you will need a carb. & intake Man. Best if you use the carb. Exhaust Manifold with it. (you need heat for the carb.) Your fuel lines will be some work. Maybe Press. line loop...

Yes, your right there. I know its been done, alot? Read on here?, guy who swapped out the IHC 345V8. For a 300 Ford six. He told how he swapped out the main shaft,(T19?) so he could mate the Ford to the Scout Trans. He said the Scout ran better, & got better mileage after the swap. :thumbup:

Man, i dont know? With that kind of miles, i wouldnt open that Engine up (without planning on a complete over haul) I think your money would go best to a good running used Engine (87-96?) Just doing the top end, might be thowing good money after bad. :nono:

Looked @ IHC in Bone Yard, its a 59,or60? The 2 speed Axle is bigger & different. 5 speed, might fit? but maybe not. From my reading, looks like IHC uses Borg Warner Transmissions? #s T34,T35,T36 & others. Gonna let those ideas go, & stick to the Brownie. :nod:
