howdy Back Ryan: I've been AFK this week. A 1.21 from a '80 390 cu, in a pickup will be rich on your 200. You can jet down some but the idle and transition functions are internal. My brother had a 1.21 from a 351 V8 in a Mustang. It worked out fairly well. I'm not sure of a truck 390 carb. Try it a...

Since your intake manifold has a large volume a 2300 350 would be a better choice. The manifold volume supplies the peak cylinder flows while the carburetor supplies the average flow. 5000 rpm and a VE of 80% and an engine displacement or 200 cu inches. 5000 x 200 x 80% divided by 3456 = 231 cfm av...

Other than the accelerator pump shot, a carburetor is not a fuel injector...It gets sucked in, a smaller engine means less suck and less fuel, to a point it is self adjusting...There is a lot more to it , best to use your air fuel meter.

Another way to distinguish a 200 from a 250 is the starter location. A 200 has the starter above the oil pan flange. A 250 has the starter below the oil pan flange. The 250 also used the same bellhousing as the 302, and the same size flywheel/clutch although the flywheel is neutral (zero) balanced....
