Billet water pump pulley hole small for 250

The billet water pump pulley I had on my 200 will not fit the 250 water pump. Can I just machine the center hole bigger? This is one the Classic Inlines sold.

Just to be clear....our "carnage" wasn't caused by a failed connecting rod! It was caused by a cyl. wall that broke at around 4500rpm or so. The piston rings for that hole then got jammed and then the train wreck started to happen. Hence all of the broke or bend rods! We spin Kelly's 250 ...

I have 68 style hood from Mustangs to Fear on my 65. It gives about an inch or so of clearance. Not sure if that is an option for you. I will be using the 72 Maverick engine mounts or making my own if need be.

Moderndriveline.com has alot of good info and parts. I have a 4cyl T5 with a 3.40 rear gear. It has been great for me other then the od gear is a .79. So I am 2800 rpm at 80 mph.

You can mill the intake down about 1/4". I would also look at shimming engine more to the drivers side.

What head are you going to use? will you be using the 2v to 1v adapter or straight a 2v adapter? Adding a T5 will really wake it up also and improve drive ability.

Looking forward to your build. My head had a couple of casting issues also. But only on the lip where the valve cover goes. I am guess this last batch of heads happen to be a rough casting.

Street engine is the plans. So the 300 rods changes piston location? They are not longer or shorter? With my head having a 51 cc chamber I do not have to machine much at all. I think the 255 piston will raise the C/R to much.
