What inverter have you been using ? I run on Solar Power here and never had an issue. If you have been using square wave inverters you would have an issue.
A good Sine wave should be what you need. You should never have the inverter and computer on when you start the vehicle.

Look for a Davies Craig Electric Water Pump. http://www.daviescraig.com.au/ You can run them with or without the mechanical pump still in place.

Another issue now to resolve. The LPG system appears to be stuck in limp home mode. Company that made it has gone and no support or diagnostic equipment can be found. Possibly time for a rebuild. :?

Cool23, at 20 amps max, they don't have the power. Period. Most likely best solution is an inverter with built-in 3 stage charging. Not the regular RV junk mind you, a real-deal industrial or marine unit. I'll do the researching and thinking, you cats stick to timezones and telling me to go live in...

OK, I need to clarify more what I posted earlier. By looking at a similar set up may give you some ideas what you need to fabricate. You may not see it on the same engine but surely that will give you some ideas what you have to fabricate to make it all work. :D

Another idea I had recently was to build a small alternator mount on a frame and have a small petrol engine run it. Set it up like a portable alternative battery charger.

The battery you need to run all these accessories will need to be a deep cycle and they also charge differently to a starter...

I still see the DC to DC charger being you best option as they disconnect when they have done the job. all automatic. Other option would be an external gen set to power every thing when you an not moving. You can get some good compact and super quiet gen sets.

It is not a total answer to what you are doing. It is designed to aid the batteries you are using. You should also consider other means to back up those batteries like Solar. The only time I have seen dual alternator systems is in 24 Volt Trucks that also have a 12 volt system to run other items. Imagine a tap on the shoulder and being told you finish up today. That is how it was done. All this is happening due to many of the smaller suppliers looking to the future. these are the sub contractors that supply parts to Ford here in the way of components.
